At the summerfest, colleague Schiller showed how a small terrain slab can be created and greened relatively quickly.
We recorded the whole thing and made it available here for anyone who wants to watch it again or couldn't be there.
Have fun and good luck!
Here again in writing what Christian did and what material was used for this demonstration:
PROCEDURE
Planning - Which model - which scene = which size - rule of thumb small and compact
- Prepare the base - Notch/scratch the wooden base to have better adhesion - e.g. HWHD2513S
- Cut Styrodur, in our case a small Raise the left side, make sure you have a right angle, sand any unevenness smooth - after gluing
- Glue on Styrodur with wood glue, leave to dry for at least 6 hours.
- Mask off the base - the areas that are not to be machined
- Put on gloves, lay out a newspaper or similar at the workplace
- Apply Moltofill and model the terrain, when the material dries footprints, chain tracks, press in / adjust the model, natural material such as e.g. Press in / insert stones, roots, etc., if necessary attach with a drill after drying.
- Allow Moltofill to dry, per 1mm of material = 1 hour drying time - clean tools immediately.
- Vignette primer = homogeneous, absorbent and grease-free surface
- Paint the surface - Indentations Darker e.g. XF1, then become lighter, depending on the desired colored background, XF64, XF52 - Mix colors with XF2.
- If necessary, paint surfaces dry, washing, etc.
- Cut the grass mats to size, pluck and stick on with wood glue - alternatively apply with UHU all-purpose glue.
- Bring up bushes and trees
- If necessary, prepare the base with paint - keyword artificial grass fibre
Necessary accessories
- Craft knife
- Styrodur - important no Styrofoam (there is e.g. in the building materials trade
- Wood glue e.g. Ponal - NOT waterproof (important - no thinner based glue)
- Moltofill - wood repair putty 1kg in a cup
- 1x gloves
- Masking tape, at least 18mm - e.g. MBK-MT18
- Emery paper - e.g. MBK file
- natural material - small tree root, pebbles, earth etc-
- Primer - e.g. Tamiya 87042 Gray
- XF1 , XF64 , XF52, if applicable XF2 no thinner-based paints!!
- If necessary wash Amig1005 etc. if necessary dry paint e.g. Amig0616 etc.
- Grass mat, flock, grass fibers - e.g. Model Scene MSC-F601
- Glue on the bushes, here as an example Wel6003
- Prepare hole for tree with wood drill
- Airbus + accessories
- Drill, if necessary, cordless drill + holder - 0.5 -2
- Wooden base e.g. HWHD2513S
