It's really interesting to see MBT express that idea about Rata like, "oh this person is actually extremely intelligent and thoughtful but ended up in a content niche that disengages that part of him" because that's exactly how I felt about MBT getting deeper into his content. He's got this Internet Troll Confrontational Theatre Kid vibe going on but the second he's given even the remotest chance to talk shop unencumbered by the kayfabe of that persona he almost immediately becomes an incredibly thoughtful guy with an absolute wellspring of contextually applicable information. He's honestly great.

I remember my school experience probably ruining me a little bit. Throughout grade school, middle school, high school and the like I loved learning and would absorb everything and engage with the classes, but would never do a single homework assignment. 100s on tests, 0 on homework. Figured why should I have to write down that I know this stuff at home when I clearly already know it, not to mention I have a computer I could very easily cheat on homework. Those kinda things. This habit translated rather poorly into college.

I was really smart as a kid in elementary school. I remember I was doing 3rd grade math in 1st grade and in 3rd grade they had this reading system where you could input the books you read to get a score and it was a grade, I couldn't put in half the books I read because they were at too high a reading level and weren't in the system for my grade, I still got the highest score in my class by a factor of 10. When I hit 5th grade, I'd been having problems with teachers not liking being questioned and bullying stuff, so I didn't like school. 1st day of school the teacher says "Oh if you have late homework put it here." And I thought "wait, I can turn in homework late?" And from there it went down hill. I started analyzing homework the same way as everything else, "is it worth my time?", "what value does this give to me?". I just stopped doing it because it was worthless and my grades tanked. I did amazing on tests and in class work but I just didn't do anythin after leaving school. The American school system took a kid who loved to learn and bullied and overworked him into pessimism. And yet I still graduated despite doing nothing, because the system didn't care whether it had worked, just that I was old enough that I wasn't their problem anymore.

I have an idea for new season of Master Duel series: Yu-Gi-Oh! has a metric ton of games, in those games there are npcs with decks ranging from actually unplayable to tier 0 (for their time), you make a wheel of the games starting from like world championship 2006 (the one that starts having more variety in npc decks compared to its predecessors) until like tag force special (you can add legacy of the duelists if you want). Then roll for two decks from the game the 1st wheel chooses. Both players then pull 10 master packs or 10 secret packs that correlate with the picked deck and if the deck is really bad an additional 10 secret/master packs and then duel. The decks are all on yugipedia. I think it would be a nice twist on the format these games are from especially Edison games like world championship 2011 and TF4/5
