Beautiful cannon, and fine workmanship. I can't help but think it needs a better carriage, with correct proportions.

This was a ship mounted gun and supposedly that is the carriage for that gun. I always felt it was too tall. The actual original Spanish gun sits on a seawall in South Fl on a very similar carriage and it is quite impressive.

I have a backyard foundry I have 2 furnaces one smaller and one larger...The smaller will hold a water bucke size pot and the big one can hold 5 fallon pot...Its usually for large aluminum castings like farm bells

Wow! When was this made? The caps and shorts scream 1980s. (I just started the video, so if they give a date at some point I haven't seen it yet.)

I changed into boots and long pants and a long sleeve shirt but watching this video 40 years later I can see some cringe worthy safety issues. My sister, the one holding back the dross during the pour actually got bronze splattered when we over poured. She was Ok but it could have been horrible. My father passed away three weeks ago and these casting days were a highlight of his life. The friends all crowded around like we were all invincible.
