A very tough drive to get into the rattlesnake infested canyon, but it eventually paid off! It was a day of quality over quantity. The rattlesnakes are no joke and not to scare anyone off---the caretaker said they are "prolific" and sees them all the time around his cabin. The large fish was not broken off, but just came unbuttoned while the line was hung up slightly on the rock with him thrashing around. My flies were all intact and the large brown was fooled by the rubber legs nymph.
3wt Sage Pulse 10' with Hardy Ultralite reel. 15' euro leader used. Flies were a #8 coffee-black rubber legs with a #16 olive perdigon. Saw a good number of October Caddis flying and egg laying with a few little bwo's here and there.
