A friend introduced me to McCoy's music after the release of "Fly With the Wind' in the mid 70's. Attended over two dozen of his shows: solo, with the Avery and Aaron trio, big band and featured soloists. For my money he could do it all, unique, alternately powerful and lyrical, with a left hand to die for -- not to mention his writing, arranging and ability to play with so many of the greats of his era . . . and he was from my home town of Philly.

Well that's the FIRST TIME that I've EVER read/heard anyone claiming that Tyner is "under-rated". (It's a BIT like someone saying that COLTRANE or MILES are under-rated!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.)
