Hehe great of you to share this with us😁sweet score! Took my friend out for his birthday today on my free 14’ aluminum. Maiden voyage. No motor n just a tiny leak but she handled the rough windy waters like a champ. Until one of our oars went overboard!!!!My friend said he saw it sink😳we got blown into shore! Nailed a dock and that’s when I saw our lost oar poke out from under the boat😑it had hitched a free ride😅

McCulloch outboards were originally Scott Atwater. Robert mcCulloch bought them in 1956 and they quit in 1967. A lot of these motors were sold by Sears as Elgins. The largest engine they made was a 75 hp 3 cylinder, a real performer, and was used by water skiers a lot. McCulloch was developing diesel outboards not too long before they shut down, and the prototypes are in a museum in NY. McCulloch outboards were more modern , lighter and smaller than other outboards were at the time. Robert McCulloch was a real innovator.

Robert paxton mcculloch was definitely a smart man! I love all the history with the London Bridge and drones etc I also found it super interesting he was married to Barbra Briggs 😳 I wonder if his father in law ever worked along side him on any projects! Cheers man thanks for dropping in!

I just picked up a sweet little ol' '75 Anchor A-14 that came with a, '60 something, 28hp McCulloch but I can't find any info on this old beast. From the look of your 7.5 though, it sure looks like it'll be a ton of fun once it's running! Wicked deal on yer fishin boat btw, can't beat those prices!!!

That's awesome!! The mccullochs are sweet, when Robert mccullochs started into the outboard business he built lakeside factory to test the boats as he made em! He was a pretty interesting fella! Hope you you like your Mac! I love my little 7.5😊 Thanks Eh!

Putting the Beach Combers to shame!!! Ha! That’s a cool old boat motor. Did you mention what year/cc’s it was? And what lake is that? Wouldn’t mine flying around in my Google chopper.
@ButlerOutdoorsCanada

I believe the motor is made somewhere in the 1960's not sure on cc but it's a 7.5 hp twin cylinder, I've also got a 6hp Johnson that was Givin to me I gotta test out. That was Orr Lake. Be safe in that Google chopper lol
