Great video again tinman. When we had cars in the 80s they had points and the felt pad which wipes the cam, we put a drop of oil on it to reduce wear on cam.

the 'felt wiper' purpose is to lube the cam. 'standard motor products' p/n sl-2 'lubricam'. eckler's sell it.

I recommend dumping the cylinder bolts and replacing them with good quality allen head machine bolts...save you a lot of headaches down the road

I bet you clean those ring groves where that scoring is and those rings will be nice and free. Its amazing how forgiving some of those small 2 stroke pistons are.

Great lessons. Thanks for your efforts. From a long time, Homelite, Stihl, Husky user(home owner, fuel wood cutter, trail maintainer, stock packer, tree faller, cross cut saw user). Ciao Tinman from Italy! Only a question: can I burn off with a gas torch the cylinder's fins to clean it from pine pitch? Am I hurting the chrome plate with the high temperature of the butane gas? Thanks to you and your videos I'm the only one that ports chain saws in my region here. Love from Italy!

I have ported a few Macs. I always have to find solutions for missing parts. Its always fun and challenging! I usually end up taking some material from the intake side of the piston to get my intake numbers. Anxious to see what you co.e up with man.

Ugh, points...had one in my O28, luckily an O29 Coil retrofit perfectly. I wonder if they have upgrades for the older Macs? Thx for sharing man👍🏻

Interesting, the Pro Mac 700 has the same port design. I think it's the same saw, just without the anti vibe. On my PM 700 I just lowered the intake port 2-3 milimeters and cleaned up the exhaust port. Chews wood like a mad dog.

I would look at the 200 series husky. Simple to wrench on and plenty of parts. Snag a 61 and turn it into a 272.

@@jeffreyrubish347 First saw i did was a 346xp Original Edition 45cc, didn't have any problem, it depends on your dexterity and size of fingers, age/arthritis etc
