Action screws i think, have two of the oryx chassis both wih howas mounted a 223 20" heavy barrel and a 6.5creedmoor semiheavy both suited to hunting and target work a little heavy but really comfortable to shoot. They r a good hunting/target chassis. Heavy enough to b good target rifle and light enough to carry hunting. The mini action 20"heavy barrelled howa .223 is much lighter than the 26" semiheavy barrel of the howa short action 6.5creedmoor .

I just bought one of these and it shipped today. I can't wait to get it and drop my action and match Barrel into it. The free floating is plenty of room.

Yes, the term is action screws. I got one for my TC Compass II .308 Win. I still need to sight it in with my Oryx chassis. The rifle was shooting .5 MOA on the factory plastic. It will probably tighten up with this. When I put my Mossberg Patriot .307 Win in an MDT chassis, it tightened the groups. It still feels light enough to carry in the woods, especially with my Eberlestock J34 Just One pack with the scabbard.

What barrel did you use for the chassis? If you could make a recommendation it would be really helpful. I've been looking at the tc compass, ruger american, and the savage axis. Thanks!

Awesome review! Did the sling swivel stud come standard or did you buy that separate? Been trying to figure out how I’ll attach my sling. Thanks!

It comes separate. Kinda disappointed in the sling compatibility with this chassis.

ditch the pic rail and run an arca rail...then get an arca rail for your tripod head...I run an arca rail on all my guns....had my buddy over at Phoenix shooting bags shoot my 223 off my arca rail tripod, with his rear bag as an elbow support...he was drilling a 3 inch circle at 800 yards....

If you don’t know the exact term for screws and bolts, just call them “fasteners” and it should help you and the audience to be on the same page. 👍

does the raised edge of the buttstock rear get in the way of pushing a cleaning rod through the barrel? I understand the cheek riser can be removed but does the cleaning rod bend when it hits the read raised edge? although one can use a brass jab and a fiberglass rod I am still concerned about the rod not entering parallel to the barrel and possibly damaging the lands. any experience with cleaning the barrel so far? also what size cleaning rod do you use?

@@kyleramynke2710 You don't there is an mlok slot on the bottom of the stock, you can get a qd adapter or probably a sling swivel adapter for it.

Don’t use locktite!
@timmywinslow
2 жыл бұрын
if you keep them in a safe and go to the gun range thats one thing but every screw will loosen under the extreme conditions we put our equipments through. Every screw gets locktite 100% of the time and I have had awesome gunsmiths mount scopes for me and 6 months later they are rattling loose. Gunsmiths and forum junkies hate locktite because of torque specs etc...50 degree temp swings, rifles bouncing in trucks with clients for months and also just shooting hundreds of rounds makes for the necessity of the blue stuff.

NO NEED TO LOCK TIGHT!!! if you use lock tight and torque you will be using a wet torque which much tighter than a dry torque....THERE is NO need to use lock tight...guessing 45 inch pound torque on the front and a little less on the back....
@timmywinslow

I understand about the lock tite but our guns roll around in trucks for months and get serious use...every screw that doesn’t have loc tite will come loose...it happens every year just had a guides 28 Nosler done by a world renowned gunsmith come loose at every screw...we just have extenuating circumstances it’s definitely not for everyone...but I’ve seen it every year especially with large recoiling calibers.
