I know the Spirit models were built in Korea. I thought the Synapse models were built in the US and that there was no correlation with Gibson. Was I mistaken? Even though it is probably a question of apples and oranges, the single magnetic EMG probably gives this model the flavor of a Stingray. In any event, I imagine that if I were to get another bass with only one pick up on it, it would be one with a humbucker.

You are mistaken indeed, it is made in Korea and made under the name Steinberger, which is owned by Gibson since around 1988.

Neo quick question do you do your own setup on your Synapse bass?

Well, I have not play the bass a lot, and haven't changed strings ever. So I never have done anything, concerning the set up actually.

To be honest, no. The pickups are different and the way this bass is made is radical different. It does sound awfully good by the way, a typical Steinberger.

Somehow, I think there is a difference between the split coil pickup on a P bass and the humbucking EMG on this model.
