Can you tell what skills you should have as network admin? beacuse i am first semester student
@2predator5

@@senior7632 Computer network deg here and soon to be System Engineer. For networking, i suggest you have flexible knowledge in cisco/huawei hardware bcause you might be dealing with both later on, for net admin the knowledge of firewall, domain, monitoring connections & bandwidth come first as priority. Net admin, true to its name, doesnt setup the network as you administering the network that was setup by net engineer.

@@efrainsanchez1999 College/Degree/Equivalence in my country determine the pay level for your role. The knowledge regarding the field you pursue will always require hands-on & technical exposure. I didn't think he was dumb, real life works like this, it's only in school they tell you to not being anything into the exam hall and drop all the knowledge from your brain that you crammed into for the last 5 days. What's going to happen with his boss is, boss will Google but he has the foundation to know exactly how the solution he found will be the best one to help, the Google results will be talking about terminology and steps that only a seasoned sys admin knows, they just need a fast reminder, being able to identify optimum solutions is a good thing, cos the internet has crap too.

@@theplanetofgames no job is "easy" in the IT field, something a lot of people think that IT is super easy at first but the only way to make it easy is either you study it a lot or you genuinely enjoy technology. A lot of people think it is easy, then they see a bunch of terms and give up.

The boss basically wants him to research the error message. I had a few professors like that in college, “Only ask for help if you’ve exhausted all resources, google the error message and you should find the solution”. It’s all part of troubleshooting.
