Hello Bruce, It's good to be in touch again. I'm glad you were able to complete your move and did so safely. I turned 60 on June 10th, as would my Twin, if not for his passing, and to be the age you are in the video, seems a life time ago, which I guess it's been. I watch all your videos and realized, it's time for another This week's homework song of your choice. Have you ever listened to Charlie Christian, from the 30's or 40's, a really great guitar player? Some welcome rain after the forest fires, definitely Fall. Be well, all the best from Oregon, Cass.

Hello Cass, good to hear from you. I'm so glad that nature has calmed things down for you. I'm a bit older than you, I will turn 65 in December. I'm working on a "This Week's Homework" now. It's funny, but as I improve, it's become more difficult to produce a video, because I become increasingly picky about my playing and expect more and more of myself. Perhaps my self-expectations increase faster than my ability :-). But you'll see something pretty soon, and I think it will show some progress. I'm old friends, so to speak, with Charlie Christian -- or his playing at least, and have worked on several of his tunes. I think my favorite was Flying Home. He was pretty remarkable. Hearing you talk about your twin reminds me of a poem I wrote in college, many years ago, about my brother. I was taking a poetry class, and the assignment was to write a poem about an old man looking at a tree. My brother, thank goodness, is just fine and lives a few miles from me, here in Indiana. But in my poem, I imagined him gone and buried. When we were kids, my grandmother had a cherry tree in her backyard, and she would make us cherry pie if we climbed it and picked enough cherries. It's a special memory for me. But for poetic sake, I changed the cherries to apples. Sorry about the swearing, I was trying to sound grown-up. The poem went like this: Christ, I like this tree. It's like the tree I climbed ten thousand years ago with my brother. Ah, my brother… And we picked the apples, Harold and I. And as the ages passed, we lost the paradise of children. "Grow old along with me" - Browning, you god damned fool. A tree and I grow old alone. While over old graves new grass has grown. That's it. Be well and stay safe. I will be sharing another guitar video soon. Best, Bruce

Hey Bruce, You did do a great job in the video, did you get a taste of Wine or just CoolAid? You sound youthful and that is what I like about it, Thank you for sharing this piece of your life. I love the Creator and all his children. You said your getting more picky and it's hard to make a video, my advice, just have fun with it, never mind a few simple mistakes, that's what makes it real, I prefer raw unedited video. You always played good in the past. I happened to pick your channel because you had the whole video of Vox Pop the story of Dick Denny and the AC30, tube/valve amp, a great video for some one who likes old school, that's me. Welcome rain for a week, I hope some makes it to Eastern Oregon, where the last of the forest fires where, a total of 38 fires, down to 10+- a couple weeks ago, 1 million acres burned, just in Oregon. The whole West Coast was on fire, and, several other states. I will look forward to a new video, and, to talk again. All the best and every Happiness from Oregon, Cass.
