Isn´t it strange though that Martin was a much worse musician than Alan. Martin usually plays with one hand, sometimes adding a key or two with the other hand. Alan was playing and you could see that it was just too easy for him. But as a composer Martin has this enormous talent to write songs that Alan simply doesn´t have. What a collaboration it was though. One writes a great tune. And second makes it sound like no other electronic band. Alan made great tunes sound even better. Add Dave´s voice and you add even more quality. Neither of the three was replacable. They can bring in young producers with their teams of engineers but the songs just lack something. Depth, atmosphere, uniqueness

Good input. My favourite producers in the post-Alan era are Tim Simenon, Ben Hillier and Kurt Uenala

@@DX5 Same thing with Vince. i was watching a documentary a while ago, and he was saying that he only took piano lessons a few years ago, because "he felt he should"! Yes Alan is classically trained , but Vince (for me) is the synth pop king. I think Alan contributed maybe more than people know. Especially around the 'Black celebration' era. His Emax sample collection was extensive when it all went up for auction.

A small part of DM died when Alan left.... they've put out good stuff since (mostly Playing the Angel and Sounds of the Universe), but it's not the same as it was from '83-93

@@AdamG1983 Agreed 100%. I love Martin's work, but Alan brought a sound that was simply incredible. It's just too bad that after he left, we didn't get to hear too much more from him. His Recoil project was decent, but I felt nowhere near as epic as when he was with DM. To this day I dream of Alan releasing an album that would show us just where DM would have been had he stayed.

so many friends and so many enemies i met in the 80's. i've met the Vance Brothers: Victor and Lance Vance, Phil Cassidy, Umberto Robina, and many others. i suffered with vic vance when Louise died. we have been trough many things in Vice City. we were betrayed by Jerry Martinez and The Mendez Brothers: Armando and Diego Mendez. we were also set up by Brian Forbes. i also met some jerks like: Marty J Williams. together with Vic vance, we helped Reni Wassulmayer. we also met a real life star from UK: Phil Collins, and many more things like a short friendship with Gonzales, some favors for Ricardo Diaz, and more. this and this music in special is what makes Vice City Stories so nostalgic and so hearthwarming for me. the first gta game i have finished. Thank you Rockstar Games, for making our favorite gta games: GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories.
