I lived in PA. when I was a kid. Was a cubscout and went to a scout camp. That would have been 1977 or so. Everytime I watch this movie I'm reminded of what a magical time it was and how the woods always smelled so great. The pine trees and the fresh air. I miss it.

Meh. I consider this to be the only Meatballs Movie. I thought the others were treated like Highlander 2 (we speak not of it). Meatballs would have made a good weekly prime time series, at least for a season or two, perhaps 3 to be generous before the shark jumps begin.

This is classic 80's cinema. Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan are trying there best to replicate it but ( in my opinion ) to no avail. This generation is about video games and celebrity culture. The 80's teen movie genre will never happen again. Cable played a huge part in this. We actually had MTV. Music videos. Now its just a reality TV station. I'm sorry. I'm an "old Gen X'er" who is venting. Thank God for KZitem so I can get my fix.

Best summer camp movie ever. Period. Sure, there are some that are raunchier and some which have funny scenes, but none comes close to Meatballs. Same can be said of Animal House for college movies. and of course, Airplane and Blazing Saddles (a tie) for comedies. Many imitations, but none ever came or ever will come close. Meatballs, Animal House, Airplane, Blazing Saddles. Remember them. Tell your great grandchildren. They won't believe you, of course. Everything will be watered down or forbidden by then.
