What’s up, fam? Got a real classic recipe for y’all today: meatloaf with a sticky ketchup gaze! This recipe is a childhood favorite recipe of mine and I cannot get enough of it whenever I make it! I’ll show you step by step how to prepare this delicious dish, from the ketchup glaze to a few tips for ensuring it comes out moist and full of flavor! I’ll show you the secret to ensuring the meatloaf holds its shape as it cooks, the ingredients necessary to keep the meatloaf from drying out, and the perfect seasonings to add! INGREDIENTS
- 2 lbs ground beef
- ½ white onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- ½ cup milk/half and half
- ½ cup plain breadcrumbs
- 3-4 eggs
- fresh minced garlic (2-4 cloves)
- 2 TB cajun seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 TB Worcestershire sauce and mustard
- 2 TB ketchup
- hot chili flakes
- hot sauce
- olive oil
Ketchup Glaze
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 2 TB brown sugar
- pepper
- fresh minced garlic
- hot sauce
- olive oil
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
Bake at 400 F for about 45 min, checking twice to drain excess liquid and re-glaze. You can broil for 5 or so minutes once it is finished cooking for a thicker, stickier glaze!
