I'm a Mechanical graduate and I want to join the IT Sector.. I've learnt C programming language. Now what do I need to learn more to enhance my skills? I'm confused because there are numerous roles in IT Sector and I just don't know what to do next because I understand just having the knowledge of any language ain't enough. For a strong resume, I need to learn more. But "what!?" is the key issue.

Is it good choice to switch from Mechanical Industry to IT industry after 5 to 6 Years experience in core mechanical engineering field?
@MusingsbyAmit

That depends on how you make this transition. Do you have interest in computers? Do you know what skills are easy for you to learn? It is possible but I will not say it is easy. You may have to work really hard to get into IT Industry. If you want you can have a one on one counseling with me out here www.amitpatels.com

@MusingsbyAmit

You should decide whether you have interest in IT Industry or Mechanical Industry. On the basis of that you should decide. I would always go by my interest. If you want to join the IT Industry then I have already explained what you need to do in the video. But if you already know Python Little bit then you can do some kind of Python Certification Like this bit.ly/eduPJCmap that will help you get a proper software development job. Also you can write the exams of TCS or Infosys that are hiring freshers. That can also work without having a lot of programming knowledge.

@MusingsbyAmit

Raj, usually Srcum Master or Project Managers are from the software development field in IT industry. If you have worked as a software developer, quality analyst, manual tester, business analyst or software support then these people can advance into Scrum or Project Management roles within Software companies. Because they understand how the SDLC works or how ALM is implemented in software companies. Directly jumping from Mechanical without any Software Experience may be difficult. But if your friend wants a detailed guidance he can avail my career solutions here at www.amitpatels.com

If mechanical engineering student want to enter in IT Domain why they are doing mechanical engineering wasting their four years instead of mechanical they can do IT
@MusingsbyAmit
2 жыл бұрын
Because our education system is not structured to help us making decision at the age of 17 when we complete High School. Parents push their childrens into engineering without findout what the person likes. So kids end up doing the wrong thing. Then they change after BE. So if a Engineer can become an actor or standup comedian then why not computer programmer.

Can industries survive without mechanical engineering? Can the world live without software industry? These are worthless debates. You should do what you are most interested in. If you want to build a life long career then you should focus on what you are good at? what do you like to do? what has a good market? That is what you should do.
@amarsonawane1907

I want to tell you that in mechanical stream, job is there but industry are not willing to pay handsome salary to them, in mechanical you have to start on around ten to fifteen thousand, your struggle will be more to reach good salary. But software side is paying you handsome salary from starting, I suggest if you want good salary learn language and switch to software field, don't bother about core field

yes. if you are good in coding, you can definitely get the job in development field. I am a mechanical engineer and I work as a developer in a well reputed product based company in PLM domain. Companies like Siemens, PTC, Autodesk, Dassault etc.. always look for Mechanical engineers with good programming knowledge to develop their PLM/CAD or any mechanical simulation products.

@@monkeydluffy3363 sir, I'm currently studying 4th year mechanical. I'm really confused about what to do next after mechanical. Don't have enough talent to crack gate. I already learnt some python programming. Can you give some advice about what should I do next? What's your opinion about doing 6 month add own courses after BTech mechanical and trying job . What about studying abroad. Please respond!
@monkeydluffy3363
2 жыл бұрын
@@azad738 Since you are still in the final year. Always make sure you have a back up plan incase something you want doesn't happen. 1) Do well in the campus placements and make sure you get a job in that. This is the easiest option that you have complete control of if you work hard from now. There are lots of IT Service companies that will hire freshers in the campus placements now a days. Also, this will be a back up incase situation turns bad. Once you work and gain experience, you can always get better jobs based on your talent. 2) Not sure what course you want to do after BTech. If the courses are something like CAT, GATE or Civils etc.. then you need to have dedication and confidence that you will crack them and get the seat in the appropriate institution. if you have that confidence, go for it otherwise, it is risky because, once 6 months become 1 year and more, it will be tough to get a new job unless you know some friends or relatives who can refer you and pull you into an IT company. 3) Studying abroad is a great option but it entirely depends on the family financial situation. If your family can afford it, go for it. Prepare for GRE or IELTS and apply for good universities.
