Oh dear. Since I started watching your pencil videos, I have had to try a ridiculous number of them. But I also have a 35 year old Twist erase that is still going strong. Took me through college and grad school and miles of notes.

The Pentel Twist Erase is the most practical and useful on this list. Every time I buy one, it mysteriously disappears! Apparently, other folks in the house love it, too!

I had a Pentel Twist erase in high school, and it was my absolute favorite pencil because the eraser was huge, adjustable, and replaceable. Fine tip 0.5 lead, also refillable 😌 ahhh, so wonderful

I love the Twist Erase! I have one. Both of my kids have one. It comes in great colors. And the eraser...... how do other mechanical pencil companies NOT build in bigger erasers!??!

I've only owned the Rotring Tikky since that's what is cheapest and easily available for me but glad to finally see it featured here. A Kuru Toga or Rotring Rapid Pro is what I'm considering next.

I have all the Kokuyo Enpitsu. The old ones, the new ones, the clip ones, the whole family. My main writing tool at work is the Type M, and people have a hard time believing it's a pencil (dark soft lead that it babies all the way and a HUGE eraser). I think of it as a collection, rather than a problem.

Maybe a future video idea to design your ultimate mechanical pencil by combining favourite features. For example a twist erase eraser with the uni kuru toga lead rotation and a comfortable gel holding with the frontal weight of a pentel graph.

Finally someone mentions the Pentel Energize pencil! I've been using it since the start of the school year after my Pilot Rexgrip, and I found it that it's more comfortable to hold than Pilot Rexgrip. Since Pentel Energel is very popular, it's Energize pencil clone should deserve more attention too! Would recommend, but it is quite expensive though.

twsbi jr. pagoda should be mentioned. It's almost identical to the rotring tikky, but a bit more than 60% cheaper. The only real difference other than price is the shape of the barrel and grip, where, for me personally, the twsbi wins in terms of both ergonomics and appearances. The rounded triangle/circle tikky compared to the hexagonal pagoda feels slippery and unwieldy.
@luna010

for what it's worth, twsbi's other pencil, the precision, is also underrated. Especially the retractable tip version. I'd even say it's better than the rotring 600 for me. And I really like the rotring 600.

I wish I had a pencil like the Morning Glory Sketch 1000 when I was younger, attending Arabic classes. Sure, nowadays there are chisel-type and even khat-specific functioning pens. But in earlier grades when teachers only allow us to use pencils? It would've been more convenient to have pencils already shaped for writing Arabic letters.
