Ladders can also be dangerous. I have a lot of people say a ladder is all you need. The same people have fallen off ladders. Screw them. I am about safety. This is the product.

An excellent review. Thanks for putting both the good and the bad things into it.

You may want to edit your title: "Medaltech Safeclimb Scaffold Review" -- the Brandname is Metaltech not Medaltech. :)

I purchased two of these at Northern Tool along with the outriggers and railing , probably around $600 for all during a sale. Used it to repair sheet rock on a high ceiling from water damage. It paid for itself for that job alone and use it outside for repairing rotten soffit and fascia. Biggest issue is just storing it when not in use.

We recently rented this scaffolding from Home Depot rentals. But we got two levels in order to reach 15 feet to hang new lights in our living room. That required getting the outriggers and railing too. They worked pretty good and we are now thinking of buying some. These are our observations. Most of the work is getting the scaffolding from Home Depot, unloading, setting them up, breaking them down, and returning them to Home Depot. The project of hanging lights was less than 10% of the work, so we cleaned our windows too. That means if you own them and they are handy it will save a lot of work. If you are going with two units (12 feet) you definitely want to lock the wheels and you must also get the railing, which makes a huge difference. Regarding the trap door in the floor, you want to wear a hard hat as you pass through (not used when one level). If you drop it the metal support could gash your head bad. $220 is a very good price for one unit. Does that include the floor piece and wheels? We have decent ladders so this is the first time we needed scaffolding and it was only $87 with tax to rent. So that makes it hard to justify buying some until we at least discover we need it again.

Instead of step stool height, try the maximum height setting 😮

This is a solid review. I just bought one and wanted to see how to use the ladder and your quick demo made me realize i'm dumb. ;) Subscribed.

I got to say you got me giggling a little bit you do realize this is the same scaffolding you get at Harbor Freight it's just a different name on the box

How do you explain that the floor and cross pieces are completely different and the Harbor Freight cross piece uses one instead of two sprung pins?

It's not quite the same but will work with this unit too.

Ive noticed whilst workin on top you can easily kick the platform board safety latches to the off position.

Thank you for the video and the info I think that the most important piece of the video is that it cost less than $280! When you rent a similar model from Home Depot or Lowes you are paying about $80-90 per day and or $180-200 per week It is an incredible price for something that is very useful and brings much safety to height work

Not sure how that safety latch 6:16 does any good when it doesn't even extend over the edge of the platform.
@OldSoulMillennial

That edge of the platform is actually outlined with steel. As there is a trap door on that half of the platform, to add strength to the standing platform, they added steel banding. So to respond to your statement, the safety clips do extend over the standing platform.
