Medic if you guys are reading this a couple key things: Make sure to add an option for the UV to come on a couple minutes per day in bursts ( So let's say 10 minutes per hour) , second, improve the UV bars with a full and more far UV spectrum so that you have more UVB incorporated as well. Now apart from that, literally the perfect light, you really don't need more PPFD than this in fact most scorpio diablo growers actually turn em down so this puppy at 100% is really all you would ever need for 95% of people. Congratz you guys did it very impressive stuff.

Dear medic grow, because of the care you guys put in, if read please consider making driver externally mountable and separating the uv and far red(700nm+) and make the far red independently dimmable… uva in TRACE during whole grow is great, promotes horizontal rooting, and suppresses disease. a uvb fluorescent t5 add on bar with reflective hood that can replace the driver’s spot dead center with either it’s own plug so can be set by timer or add functionality to controller to set burst periods during mid photoperiod(last 3 weeks, 1,2,4,6hr options?) if the add on fixture some how plugged into main fixture. The far red should be 2 add on bars like currently using but only far red(uva should be integrated to fixture as whole for most even spread in my opinion if possible). These add on bars should get the same treatment as uvb t5… separate plug so grower can set timers, or add to controller the ability to set time on/off(dim% during photoperiod, dim% just after lights out for 5,10,15min). If the far red is controller controlled for dimming rather a knob, please include %far red in total spectra as you dim on the display. This would KILL the game so long as coverage was even steven

People are right and wrong you could put two 400 watt HPS or MH but would not get the even full canopy par rating = growth and it would be much hotter . I have 1800 watts of leds in my 5x5 i dimm them way down to 780 watts this gives me over 900 par in every part of my tent . Put a 1000watt in and it wouldnt be as good . Leds are not much more efficient if putting full par to every corner of your grow space

I’ll start with I’m still convincing myself after a little more than 5 years. When using hids for so many years I discovered spread to be as important as intensity with the constant manipulation of the plants to catch more light. Now that large quantum boards are here and the bar leds it’s more apparent and for me no return to the past will be likely. The problem ironically for me now is understanding intensity and par values. Jeez I just want those buds of old!

The company maybe based in the United States, but customer care is Chinese based and only communicated by chat bot between the hrs or 11pm and 3am EST. I would look for a usa based customer care service system if concerned about after purchase customer care. Based on my own personal experience, medic grow customer care is a bot system that lies about 24/7 support.

Yes Sonofarm and Eaglestar sell the same exact lights. I’m nearly positive Sonofarm has warehouses in US. I know they did in New York.

@@timpage5021 ok, I was taking advantage of the 420 promo when it was $504 for the fold 8. The receipt seemed junky and then no communication after dropping $500 to an unknown company on their website was bananas. Eventually I was able to catch them responding at 1am and was able to get my order and tracking info. But I wouldn't do it again, I would just spend the extra money to get usa based service.

The industry needs to get away from square tents. 2x4 3x5 4x6 are by far the most sensible size tents for growing. We need more rectangle lights!

I have a 3x5. One of my favorite set ups. I got 2 Spider Farmer SE3000s in it. Over 6 Photos in 5 gallon Rain Science mesh grow bags. The industry does have quite a wide variety of assorted size tents. Especially Gorilla , Secret Jardin Agromax and Lighthouse brands.

I can't seem to find much info on the San'an led chip other than they are o. Of China's biggest suppliers of diodes. Does anyone here have any experience with them and how good they are?

I'll find out! Just ordered the X, was using 1000w HPS in 4.5X4.5X8. Hard to keep the heat down in that small of an area.

@John Campbell quality isn't cheap and cheap is hardly ever good! If the yield isn't comparable, I'll probably switch back. With the specs of this light, it should work amazing for the size it's going in. But only time will tell.

@@chadbruno3456 you mean you might switch back to the cheap hps and metal halide? Cheap gets you 6 lbs per 1000w hps providing you have a dedicated dark space and are running your hps (5x5) 24/7. Also a 600w mh in a 4x4 for veg. Having 1 bar of led lights that dont penetrate isnt going to change just by adding 7 more weak ass led bars. They measure par wattage for an led at a foot from the light but measure 1000w hps at 6ft because its a powerful high bay light with deep penetration. Good luck

@John Campbell wrong 1000w HPS gets 4lbs consistently in a 4x4. And that is a very full 4x4. Might squeeze another 1/2lb in there, maybe. There is no need for MH. HPS will veg just fine. They measure par at different distances with LED, not just at 1ft. HPS, MH, is old technology. Yes, they work great, and they also use a lot of power to create a lot of heat. So you have to run an AC while the light is on increasing the cost even more. LED technology has come a long way in the past few years. They also make high bay LED lights, LED's that don't have to hang 1 ft above the canopy. But I'm sure you know everything already so good luck with your old ways. PS, my HPS wasn't cheap, and neither are the bulbs I replaced every 6 months! You can't compare an Amazon special LED light to a quality LED! I also don't really care if I have to drop the light down closer. I'll just add a little auto electric lift so I can raise and lower it with a button. Not a big deal, just a hobby.
