Congratulations! This is so inspiring! I watched your channel during my premed years, and now as a first-year medical I can say your videos have helped me a lot. I feel so happy for you, and it is like watching the success story of a good friend. Enjoy the rest of your journey, and keep the channel alive.

Awesome, Dr. Thompson! I'll have to meet you some day. You'll be quite close to Arkansas in Tulsa. Oh and Arkansas is getting two new Osteopath schools! One just opened and one is set for next year I think! A total a three named schools in one state! One is MD the other two DO. I like how this is lining up for me as I aspire to be a doctor.

+Jessica Tilt I second that! I'm an MS1 and have been (with no great urgency) trying to kick around ideas and figure out what I want to do with my life. Anesthesia seems to always resurface in my mind. I'm also married and we have two kids. I'd love to get your thoughts on why it was right for you. Thanks for all the great videos. (CONGRATS to you and your family by the way! I can't imagine how stoked you guys must be).

Congratulations on getting placed in your preferred match! I've watched several of your videos as I've been applying to medical school, and they have been very informative so thank you for all the effort you've put into the channel. I was accepted and plan to attend osteopathic medical school this Fall and was wondering if you have any new updates or information about the graduate medical education merger. Do you have any new thoughts about how that will affect DO students now that you've almost completed your fourth year and gone through the residency match process? Thank you!

Hey just found your channel. Great info. I am interested in anesthesiology and I found it to be fitting that I come across your channel and watch your video until the end where you say this is the specialty that you matched and have a passion for..how amazing. I wanted to pick your brain a bit with some questions I have been wanting answered for the longest and they may seem very generic but if you could answer them that would be so so great!! I have heard that Anesthesiologists work very rigorous schedules and there is no way of getting out of it essentially. Is this true? If I decided on giving a go on my interest in this field would I really be looking at a 60-80 hour week schedule with call often? Also do you feel like the rise of CRNAs will affect the MD or do you think they work well with no real interruptions to each respective profession? Phew long paragraph but if you get a chance to reply that would be awesome and by the way (cough) Im a new subscriber lol

Congratulations!!! Is it safe to say that with such a tough specialty like anesthesiology, you should rank all of your interviews/applications? Or do you really trust your gut and only rank the ones you enjoyed?

Is there way to increase your chances for your 1st pick? Is it just based on the interview and algorithm? Or do exam scores, gpa come into factor? Also, congratulations!

+Felix Saraci It is based on how well the program ranks you in return, which is based on how well you interviewed and your application as a whole (which includes scores and transcripts etc)

Why do you find the need to tell people where you matched and where it was on your rank list? Might as well tell them your salary, too? You could have easily shared that you matched into your desired field (anesthesiology) and are heading to Oklahoma for residency. Why boast? What about your hard working classmates who didn't get their first choice or had to scramble? How do you think they feel?
