Meen Curry 🐟 🍛 (meen is fish in Tamil)
I did the video 2 years ago when I first started JBS, I’m doing it again because some of you requested some time ago and I promise I would redo it again with the whole recipe under 90 seconds. I have never stop cooking this because it has always been my household’s fav curry that goes with everything else other than just white rice.
Ingredient list:
🔸fish (my recommendation is bonito fish, mackerel, sardine or pomfret, it’s okay to cook a bit more as this curry can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days and the reheated ones are somehow more delicious! 😜)
🔸salt & pepper for marination
🔸halba campur (mixed Indian spices), 1 tsp
🔸shallots, 3
🔸tomatoes, 2 small ones or 1 big one
🔸ginger garlic paste (50% garlic 50% ginger blend with some water), 4 tbsp
🔸dried chilli powder, 1 tbsp (skip this is you’re not into spiciness)
🔸curry leaves, 2 stalks
🔸fish curry powder mix with some water to make a paste (use quantity recommended by the packaging)
🔸tamarind juice (2 tbsp tamarind paste mix with water)
🔸aubergine aka brinjal aka eggplant (as much as you like)
🔸lady fingers/okra (as much as you like)
🔸salt and sugar to taste, I use Vellam
P/S: my fish was about 500g, the curry gravy is about 800ML - 1L, it dries up over time haha. I been eating it for 3 days, first round as dinner with rice and appalam, second day with frozen Roti Canai and third day with Rava Tosai and Coconut Chutney. Now who wants Rava Tosai and Coconut Chutney recipes, angkat tangan! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻
