Mee Pone, meaning "lantern" in Myanmar, is a song about a cool Thadingyut night whose sky twinkles with colorful floating lanterns. Coming after three months of Buddhist lent, Thadingyut is a time for festivities and celebration across the country. Homes and pagodas are decorated with electric lights, colorful paper lanterns and candles during this Festival of Lights. It's a time for street food, fireworks and street fairs. A time to be home with the people you love. A time to pay respect to the elders.
This song was recored live as part of Thar Nge's Moody Saturday series in which he performed/produced/posted a cover song video (and some original as well) every Saturday for a year. Tagu Films supported sound recording and video production for his original songs in this series.
