@Shimmy Shai believe it or not, I am an educator who used to teach in public schools, private schools, and I was an administrator. At the time my nephew was staying with me, I was working at the college where I also attended. My sister asked me to take him for a while because he was skipping school and had started hanging out with questionable teenagers. So, my boss gave him a battery of college level tests and his results came back that he was higher than gifted and borderline genius. They said school will inevitably hold him back. So, we had him test out of school and enrolled him in college. He received scholarships. After he finished, he went into the Military. My nephew got married and had four children. All four of his children are homeschooled and have also tested genius. The rest of my siblings home schooled their children too.
@LoriCollier1

I say if you can, homeschool or a homeschool coop is always the best option. You get a one on one learning environment for your child. How knows you child better than you? No one. Where the child excels, like the one in this video and also like Mark Zuckeberg, his parents hired a software developer to work with him and tutor him. If he were in the public school system, he'd be lucky to get a class on using Microsoft products let alone one on real coding. I have 3 college degrees but I like learning on my own and doing certificates and especially free KZitem lessons to learn. For my last degree in Computer Science, I did just that. I learned on my own and with KZitem! I graduated with a 4.0 GPA.

Not an entire waste of time, but, yeah, schools by nature of being a structured system with rigid rules/policies/guidelines to follow can't be flexible to the learning styles and needs of gifted children. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box but I was definitely better than average (just a wee bit better) and I got stuck at an underperforming high school (the second lowest rated high school in my school district - ouch!). While I learned a lot that I wouldn't have otherwise learned at home (my parents didn't speak English at the time and it was up to me to navigate the US education system on my own), I probably could've completed high school in fewer than the four years they required. Mostly because a lot of my class schedule was filled with remedial courses because they lacked advanced courses at my high school. I spent a lot of time in class being bored, done with my class work, taking a nap or tutoring my classmates with their assignments. And I'm a creative kid, so rigidity doesn't foster growth in me. It just stifles me. It's a shame that that's the current state of our US education system.

@Tee X Okay, I was feeling hopeless, and silly, my point was, his generation has more intelligence than the Moron in our White House. T-rump won because he's a big con, who only cares about money, (in HIS pocket.) He doesn't give a damn about anybody else in the world, (except maybe his daughter.) He's gotten away with doing whatever he wanted, for his own selfish needs, for so long, that he thinks he is all that matters. He doesn't know how to put "America first," or anyone before himself, (only with maybe, one exception, Ivonka.) I and many experts see thru him. He is a very mentally ill creature, but now he has power, and that makes him "the most dangerous president this country has ever had," like Bernie Sander's says. Trump is the epitomey of everything that is wrong with this country. I am not a religious person, but I have studied the Bible among many other books, and I recall at one time reading about the anti-christ. It was the best description of donald trump that I can think of. It was a prediction, from maybe thousands of years ago, but it described exactly what he has done, and is doing to America. And it described him to a T. This is why I believe, at this point, Bernie Sanders is our best and only hope. But the 'status quo,' in DC is afraid of him, so he doesn't have a chance...So the 2 choices on the ballot will be trump or Biden. It's really sad, because if the People of this country stood any chance, it would be with Bernie. I believe he could turn things around, and make life better for ALL the people, not just the Billionaire class, and the Huge life sucking corporations, that run our government. But most people, no I have to say more accurately, almost 1/2 the people in this country don't have a clue. That is how we got trump, who is playing his selfish game, and totally destroying our government. It's his "Revenge," on the rule of law. He has always defied it. And Biden has a good heart, I'm sure, and he was Oboma's pick for vice-president, so he is the democrats choice. ANY DEMOCRAT WOULD BE A GREAT IMPROVEMENT OVER WHAT WE HAVE GOT NOW. But I am afraid Biden might not have the will or the way to get this country to where it should be by now. Bernie won't run as an Independent because that may split the vote, allowing T-rump to stay in control, which I think most people, (with a brain,) know by now, that will him allow to keep destroying OUR country, OUR Government, OUR Democracy. That is why Putin helped t-rump steal the White House. THAT is why Bernie Sanders is the one Man we need, at this point. He know what is going on, he is FOR the PEOPLE, and he has the PASSION needed to fight FOR US.
@moonbeamchaos

SUSAN MEYER It’s too bad that the younger voters Bernie was counting on couldn’t be bothered to get off their complacent asses and VOTE. I personally feel that, even if Bernie were elected (which looks unlikely as of now) his most “radical” ideas will never get through Congress. And I think 45 has basically trashed the effectiveness of executive privilege with his Executive Orders. Anyway, love him or not, Biden is probably going to be the Democratic candidate, and if the president continues lying about our TERRIFIC response to the Coronavirus pandemic (which he STILL calls the Chinese Virus) whoever is still alive will probably vote Trump OUT. Fingers crossed.

I'm more emotional today, & reading your words I just burst into tears for the first time, despite the fact that my nursing knowledge knew from the beginning that this was coming. Today, it feels ever so real & near, & everything we know is fixing to change. The part that got me was the glimmering ray of light...& thank you for Shining Avi Schiffman.

These young adults are in example to the world. Our leaders rather than being inspiring are embarrassing us. I see something in these wonderful young people that i have never seen in the US president. Humility, Humanity, selflessness and an genuine desire to help others. I would like to say thank you to them for restoring some faith in people again. I hope we have more Youth rise up and speak up with reason and facts against our current leaders. As sadly most do not represent the masses but are only interested in enriching themselves. Thank you and don’t stop. You are driven by passion we’re sadly most of our leaders are driven by greed. Please do not fall for that, we all need money but no one needs billions, when their are homeless on our streets. Imagine if they redirected money spent on wars to clean energy, medical cures, housing and feeding the starving, how long would it be if we focused our education on peace, love and equality. With one generation we could heal our world and have a safe world. We have never given PEACE A CHANCE. Why!

Avi is proof that when you want to learn something you can. Some of us have learned more on our own by continually reading and practicing our crafts and skills at home for years, learning more than all of our formative years of public school mis education. Instead of encouraging the creatives classes they promoted working classes. Congratulations and much sucess to Avi and his friends for providing the world a much needed service by filling the void that even the mature adults had overlooked during this health crisis. Young people like this are our future. They will help make this world a better place for all of us. Give them a chance and watch them grow. Let's inspire and encourage them. It might be a young mind like Avi's and many others to find cure to this worlds problems. These children are gifts to humanity among us that shouldn't be discounted and aborted.
