She looks uncomfortable because she is on the accounting side of the business and knows that tow and storage fees are high and allow them to keep poor people's cars and then auction them. It's not a moral character builder. This is a predatory business model. Yes they provide a legitimate towing operation, but to get rich you have to use your own storage fees to posses a car and eventually "take". These tow companies cruise parking lots and apartments all day and night hunting cars. Be very weary of parking spots with a time limit as they are often a place to snatch your car and tow companies know its easier to pay than prove it in court. Easy money is right. These practices are predatory and there are plenty of videos on youtube about it. It's all about money. It is easy for a tow company to get overzealous and become predatory, matter of fact it pays.

Towing companies are a predatory business - They make most of their money from towing illegally parked cars. They get to sell the car off if owners don't pay, which can be almost impossible because most towing companies charge +$50-100 a day of keeping the car on their lot, on top of the initial towing fee. Unless the owners can pay right away, they are screwed. It's a messed up business.
@alf3926

Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck, it is not uncommon for people to be unable to pay these fees, and it gets worse everyday that you don't pay up. We need regulations on towing companies from taking advantage of people.

I don't know about this particular business but my experience with towing was not good. I bought my daughter an older Honda Accord. It was stolen and vandalized and left in an orchard. I had turned it in and Highway Patrol called me. They agreed I would come by and pick it up or have it towed as needed. I arrived at the scene in less than 15 minutes. No car no highway patrol. About the time I arrived I was called by HP and told to pick up the car at the tow yard. 8 minutes later I arrive at the tow yard. The Honda was still on the tow truck. Long story short they wanted $400 for me to get back my own stolen car. They had the car for less than 20 minutes. And end of the day there is nothing you can do about it ... my take away was it was a racket and HP was in on it. After a little research I found that most of the towed cars are abandoned. Most of the owners were people driving without a license, drunks pulled over and the car impounded or old clunkers repossessed. For the next ten or so days I was called by every wrecking yard asking if I would take $200 for the car ... so there is a system they use to acquire the cars cheap quickly. I hope these guys are more honest. And believe me tow truck guys work hard. My neighbor was an independent driver and he got stiffed routinely by the banks he did repo's for. So good for this couple. for their success.

rich people don't get their car auctioned off because they couldn't pay to get it out of the impound. When you have to choose between 400 dollars to get your car out of a lot or keep the lights on. These people are crooks they influence businesses to put towing signs up so they can sit there and steal their car the second they walk away. It is a predatory practice which should be illegal.

I remember getting towed as a grad student in Miami. Parked at a 7-11 and bought a drink. Walked next door to a burrito shop and when I walked out with my car was gone. Apparently the towing company gives phones and money to homeless bums and they call in cases like mine. Definitely felt like I was setup. Learned a 300 dollar lesson that day. Evil predators exist.
