As someone who lives in Massachusetts & been in treatment for depression for close to a decade now.... It's really hard for people to convince this world is worth living in when ever day I get a mountain of evidence it's not and maybe or two "theoretical" reasons why it is. Man.... We don't help people with mental illness, we treat them & move on. Then we wonder why the world keeps getting worse and the problems keep coming back. "Why treat the root causes of a problem when it's just easier to bill a patient for medications and treatments designed to suppress the perception of negative emotions?" Yeah man... I'm pretty much done with this world. I'm 31 and been trying to get help since 21. Anyone who's struggling at 21? Don't fall for professional's false promises of help. You're totally justified in wanting to check out early. This world ain't getting any better and nobody actually cares about helping others. Even the "professionals" are just doing what they need to in order to get through the day. Your existence is an inconvenience. I know I'm going to make sure my plan is more reliable when I leave. Best state for a man to divorce is a good search. A divorce is a hell of a lot cheaper than a life sentence.

I will never understand what drives someone to murder, let alone write down their intentions in a journal and not think it’d be an issue

I'd recommend Dreddings channel for Joel Guy Jrs murder/trial. It's super unsettling when they show the police video walking through the house....they walk right by the pot boiling on the stove. Still gives me chills to think about.

I will say, as someone with mental health complications, a person’s mental health can have a profound influence on their physical health, and physical health can influence the way a person looks and/or presents themself. A certain hopeless and/or apathetic and empty look to a person’s expression can be what makes a convicted killer *look* like a murderer.

While he was looking up Joel Guy Jr., I suddenly realized everything was from my local news outlets. I googled it myself and realized it was about ten minutes from where I lived and about five minutes from where I worked. Super eerie. Thankfully I didn’t live there in 2016 yet.
