@@stephenhurd1489Does this channel attracts Amish secret surfers or just retards so much because of the scaremongering rhetorics? It might seem scary for ignorant technophobes like the content regurgitator (this is pretty old footage), granted, but calling robots 'demons' and scientists/great technicians/programmers - 'psychopaths' is straight out of the putrid middle-ages, when a large part of population was illiterate, clueless and often clinically mentally ill. I see ever-rising danger in people like that - meaning all ignorant 'conspirologists', karens, anti-science movement and the rest of room-temperature IQ scaremongers - way more than any tech would ever have. Even internet-2 and touchscreens, however harmful when misused, could be relieved of damage it wreaks in society's echo-chambers, by vetting who get to participate in debate by at least some basic tests. Tech are just tools, with no intrinsic morals and ethics, unless you program and use them in specific ways. Word 'robot' was coined well over 100 years ago by Karl Chapek and since have been a part of modern life and cutting-edge of technology. If you have a computer or even smartphone, never mind washing-machine or other moving electronics, you virtually have a robot. This is just the best-honed advance in bipedal, marginally humanoid version of robots. And yes, it's 100% real, links on request. P.S. People who falsely accuse content of being 'fake' like you just did, expose their own deep ignorance of topic at hand, in millennial post-truth manner just labelling things from your lack if judgement or constructive thinking. "Just because it looks unbelievable" have no weight, unless something is off intuitively, visually. Then you need some knowledge of CG rendering, editing, photography, actual physics, but most importantly the context and background of the footage to tell how a video is made. ~90% of CG/editing can be 'sensed' intuitively, even if rendering engines can do next to photo-realistic images and are increasingly hard to tell apart. Still, only the very best quality 'fakes' need specialist attention to discern edited from real, and those are few and far apart. Boston Dynamics have been baselessly accused of rendered 'demonstrations' from the start by people who have no clue about either topic. Their video demonstrations have been proven very real, both on site and by very best CGI/editing specialists, like The Corridor Crew years ago. Not that they had to defend themselves. So you're a bit late to start this debate.

@@nikitaw1982they are not. Actually most people do not understand how the Atlas robot works right now. Or if you Like so any of their robots. What they do in this displays is not anything the robots do autonomously right now. There is a high degree in autonomy In how the robots control the movement, steadying themselves, considering all their sensor inputs etc., staying in the middle of a step, positioning, such things. But right now, there is not even something like a remote control (except for spot I think). Programming this happens in a software that looks more similar to a video editing or even more, an animation software. And this is what it is. Someone has to program this whole choreography which can then be run. And test runs is where those bloopers originate from, either due to something off in the Animation Programm or in processing the sensor inputs. So this is definitely cool, not scary, as it is impressive what moves the robots are able to do. But not scary, as they would not be able to do anything on their own. Autonomously within boundaries all they can do is balance themselves when standing, so you cannot easily tip them over. But those examples have been really early steps already.
