The name "octopus" comes from the Greek words okto meaning "eight" and pous meaning "foot."
The octopus has one of the most complex brains of any invertebrate, with around 500 million neurons. What's fascinating is that the majority of these neurons are not in its head but in its arm.
This means each arm can function somewhat independently, allowing the octopus to multitask like a pro.
Octopuses are the ulimate master of disguise, thanks to their specialised skin cell called chromatophores.
Find out more about their intelligence, nine brains, three hearts, blue blood etc.
