Another beautiful thing about the found family vs the blood related family is what Wilbur says in the end to Luis. "I didn't think my best friend would be my dad." Luis gave his son a beautiful blood related family to grow up in and feel loved in. Something Luis didn't have with his mother.

Also wanna mention that Bowler Hat Guy IS indeed an amusingly memorable villain. The hilarity and zaniness of his character can be credited to none other than Stephen J Anderson, the film's director, who voiced not only Bowler Hat Guy, but also Bud (Lewis' adoptive father and Lucille's husband) and Tallulah (one of Lewis' adoptive cousins from the future). Stephen himself was adopted and he actively pushed to direct MTR because he related to and identified so much with Lewis. He's an awesome guy who continues to respond to fans online, especially on fan art for the film, to this day. 😊😊😊

Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Bolt, Toy Story 3, Up, Lilo and Stitch, and many more! Heck, Treasure Planet, all of Pixar’s line-up from Toy Story 1 to the Incredibles, and even the re-release of Aladdin on the 2-disc DVD Special Edition! Disney was seriously cooking in the late 90s and the general 2000s! (No joke, I even enjoyed Chicken Little! Yeah, I admit it’s got issues looking back: animation wasn’t the best, most of the cast, especially Buck Cluck, were pretty mean spirited, and to some it might seem a little all over the place in terms of tone. However, my defense for all of that is A. They were still trying to find their own Disney 3D aesthetic outside of Pixar, and I think the imaginative cartoony designs of the characters and world still kinda hold up to a slight degree despite the CGI looking rough. B. Buck, at least in my opinion, kinda redeemed himself by the end, and Chicken Little actually spoke his mind to his father and he responded, imo, quite appropriately. Some of the things, again, might not work, but I think Buck did actually have a decently written change of heart despite his over the top cowardly and worst-father-y character writing! And C. …the dramatic serious tones were fine, and worked alright imo. But most of the silly visual humor, even the pop culture references, and especially the 4th wall breaking opening, made me and almost EVERY KID IN THE THEATER CRACK UP AND HOWL WITH LAUGHTER! And even as an adult now, despite all its faults it still makes me wheeze with so many of the over the top reactions, and all the sudden pop music jokes!🤣🤣🤣)

I love this movie. I remember how I watched it on repeat, sobbing over and over when I was watching the bit about him realizing that the woman who gave him birth also made one of the best gifts of his life - an opportunity to choose his own family. And after seeing the family he'd make in the future, he changed his mind about chasing the woman who had abandoned him in the first place. I also think that the way he defeated Doris, made a huge impact on that decision - one move during this faithful moment and he can erase the very existence of his whole future that he still has a chance to create...

You hit the nail on the head. I teach children how to swim, and I always tell them that it's ok to not be perfect right away, because that's the point of practise. I loved that they didn't go too much into the bio mom's story, because it doesn't matter, because she was selfless enough to give up Louis so he could hopefully have a better life than what she could give him. I imagine she got sick and passed away, thats why she's not shown to contact him in the future. Maybe she was homeless or in an abusive relationship, the movie doesn't care about why, it cares about the sacrifice for the child.

The best thing about the family dynamic is that cornelius just ran his household like the orphanage he always wanted to be in … allowing his kids to be as free as possible to find their true selves because that’s where happiness lies and that’s one of the lessons he learns at the end of the movie. So for the family to be the reason why ,young cornelius understanding why individuality is important and getting that lesson from his own family tbat he created is really some full circle incredible writing….

I also like that even though the tag line is "keep moving forward", it could have also been "remember, but don't dwell". The Robinsons are all about making mistakes and learning from them. Taking those mistakes with them into the future so they have experience to draw from when they want to improve things. It isn't about instantly ditching the experience of failure, but remembering WHY you failed and how to try and change it the next time around. (which is really a message I needed right now. Im going back to school for nursing and its going to take me 5 years to do it. I went to college at 18, my degree is basically useless, but I'm trying again now with something I know I want to do and will help me. Its going to be hard and Im going to be bogged down by regret because I didn't do this the first time, but the lesson I need to hold onto is that decisions need to be made with intention rather than doing it just to do it and just because this is attempt #2 doesnt make it any less of an accomplishment. Hell, my mom at 55 is going through nursing school RIGHT NOW. She has tried and failed at so many things, but has always done her best and now she's found something that sticks and shes GOOD at. I am so proud of her. I deserve to be proud of myself too) I love your channel. Its like watching a friend talk about what their passionate about. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and loving it. I could never understand why Lewis' future family would be so encouraging at his failures, though. Now that I'm older, I realize how healthy of a reaction that is. And it takes time to change your viewpont from "failure = bad" to "failure = now you know, and that's a good thing", but with time and practice, it gets easier. Still kot there yet myself, but I hope to be someday. This mivie truly is underrated, though. As someone who has come from a lot of past hurt and trauma, I can genuinely say that I do cry at this movie, specifically the part where Lewis decides not to meet his mom. It really spoke to me that he saw his future and realized he liked it much better than the past that he could've lived through. Like, he could've chosen to literally live in the past for longer than a moment, but he didn't. He kept moving forward. That really hits close to home for me and likely for a lot of other people as well. I can honestly say I've met a lot of people who would benefit from seeing this movie. To anyone struggling as I am, I wish you well on your journey. Keep moving forward; you can do this. ❤

I freaking love this movie. Im adopted never been in the system only because when my birth mom was looking touring a home, she went into labor. Then my aunt took me in as she witnessed the birth and didn't want me in the system as I was POC, and these homes aren't the greatest. Anyways I still had my own hangups even though I accepted why I was adopted and never had any malacie towards my birth mom. This movie shows that not only can you find your own value in yourself, even if you dont know your bloodline, but that the family that you build is just as strong as a blood related one. Idk if anyone else has this feeling, but when you tell others as a kid that you are adopted, there is an air about people that almost feels sorry for you even if you yourself dont feel like that. Me personally, every time I had to explain my situation, it almost feels like Im confirming that Im not "real sisters to my brothers" and that my parents aren't actually my mom and dad. I dislike thinking that way cause its not true. It just feels a bit disappointing because I'd choose to even if they were. Also, people put too much care in blood related families above actual love for others. I dislike the thought that adopted kids aren't as special or important as someone from a direct bloodline. Again, I can't explain how much I love this movie. We had it on DVD, and Im sure I've seen this movie over 200 times. Plus, the music is so heartwarming and lovely💜

The part of the frog and dinosaur being mind controlled was funny and I like how they are a family and are so ridiculously fun. My parents taught me that when I fail, I learn from it and it's not something we can always prevent, so it depends on what I failed at to then get me spanked because it's something that I could've avoided with my knowledge and didn't. That's why my dad especially endorses it when failing because that's the quickest way to learn, but when he knows about something that is too bad when failing, then he tells us how bad it is instead of us having to learn that hard lesson.

His revenge against Robinson is hilarious and childish, and it make sense cause he never manage to grow up without adoptive parents. I also want to mention and point out that the little emo girl, that you showed when she held up the paper saying " Boring" when Louis was going on ranting bout his time machine in class. She is the same girl that he ends up befriending, falling in love with, marrying and having that amazing family in the future, cause she was also alone, and nobody wanted to befriend her cause of her awkward and weird outlook. He was the only one that lend his hand out to her, befriend her and made her feel special, and happy that someone showed her kindness, and made her feel she wasn't alone anymore. I really liked their relationship without the movie 😊.

This movie hits the feels so hard. Especially the Rob Thomas - Little Wonders song. I always talked about this being a really good movie but the messaging helped make it last

Hey BP, I notice that you often talk about underrated and under appreciated work that was made with love and actually takes the time to craft great characters and messages. Please, would you give Rise of the TMNT, the show and the movie, the spotlight? There are SO few shows out there that show male characters that have such a strong and believable bond, where they are not toxic to each other, where there is a father that clearly cares for his kids, owns his mistakes, and accepts them for who they are, where the boys keep trying no matter how many times they mess up, and it's all subtly told through humor, through amazing action. Not to mention that the women in this show rock too. They have actual personalities, they mess up, and they have powerful relationships with the main characters without having any gross, unnecessary romance. Rise of the TMNT is great, and it is so sad that one of the few shows that has healthy sibling relationships and a focus on found family, and how it empowers you, is not given the attention it deserves.

I love this movie. The film is really on the nose about its message, but I feel like it's necessary because it's not very often that you hear it's okay or even good to fail. I actually quoted this movie in my college application essay lol

there's a few things that've always stuck with me.. things that relate to one another immensely.. and really help me keep moving forward meet the robinsons - Keep moving foreword Mythbusters - failure is always a option sonic adventure 2 - live & learn fnaf 4 - tomorrow's another day helluva boss - everything will be okay failure is bound to happen.. no matter what.. don't be scared by it, just live from it, learn from it, and move forward from it.. tomorrow's a new day, another day, a mystery day.. but one that, no matter what, will entail you being okay in the end..

A few months ago my chihuahua Olivia that had been in the family for 8 years passed away suddenly. I blamed myself completely for what happed and got stuck in this guilt that I just couldn't shake away. I trusted in a vet that recommended to spay her and even though I was always afraid of doing it since she was tiny I went with it, he convinced me there were no risks and that she would be fine. He opened her up too much, she was in too much pain, wouldn't eat and almost dies. I decided to leave her in the clinic for them to take care of her, I was panicking and the thought of loosing her made me feel ill. A few hours later the vet called to say she just suddenly passed while he was trying to get her temperature. I knew she was afraid of strangers and more of man, I blamed myself for leaving her there by herself and it hurts everyday. I try to keep moving forward but it's hard and it feels like one step forward and two steps back. Thank you for reminding me of this movie, it gave me the little push I needed today.

Its wild how much brain chemistry has to do with it. My sister and i are like lewis and goob. I am confident and optimistic. My mom said even as a baby she would give up on stuff quickly and i would sit there for as long as it took it get something right. Its difficult for me to understand people with the other mindset but i know ill probably never understand
