Because anyone, especially him, should understand that Meg was completely in the right and shouldn’t have to put up with that whatsoever. Yet, he pretty much manipulated her into being the punching bag for the sake of the family. He could’ve suggested therapy, he could’ve justified her feelings, and I know it’s a cartoon, but he could’ve literally done anything else but make her take two steps back after taking a step forward.

This pretty much sums up how Meg never really stood a chance. I mean, when you get right down to it, Lois is to blame for how Meg is treated, and thus has little to no confidence in herself or those around her. Yes, other people in the Griffin household (as well as their town and world) treat Meg horribly as well, but in a way, that's to be expected of them: Peter and Chris are both blithering idiots who have never been able to completely understand anyone else's emotional viewpoint. Yes, they're horrible to Meg, but given their limited intelligence, you can only blame them so much. In fact, if you were to really think about it, you could make the argument that these two highly impressionable people were just following the lead of the only member of the household who has both intelligence and authority. Stewie on the other hand has been a sociopath since he was conceived, but again, you could argue his attitude toward Meg was something ingrained from an early age. And the rest of the town is pretty much nothing but variations of these characters, with most of them being either morons, sociopaths or pervs. Brian is the only character who has at least attempted to be be civil to her on a regular basis... and he's the fucking family dog. From the moment Meg was born, Lois was the only one Meg could really rely on, but Lois' own narcissism and moral lapses pretty much insured Meg didn't stand a chance. Meg most certainly should *NOT* have apologized to them, and drilling in the "moral" that she should just allow herself to be the family's figurative and literal punching bag just to maintain the peace is a *H O R R I B L E* lesson to teach anyone.

Let's face it, if Meg just straight up walked out the door after the storm passed, (or even in the middle of the storm, if she's desperate), and never returned, and by extention never appeared on the show again, (aside from being mentioned by the Griffin's every now-and-again), this episode would've been sooo much BETTER! Since this would've then been Meg's final appearance in the show and it would've also been the moment when she finally decided that "they're not worth it" and escaped from the abuse that not only her family, but also the entire town brought on her. So she takes whatever money she could find, (perhaps even stealing some cash from her parents & brother when everyone where sleeping. Hey, they read her diary, abused her for years, never supported her, and essentially encuraged the entire town to do the same, so based on all that and more, i'd say this is fair game), bought a one-way train (and/or plane) ticket, and left this abusive town behind her to start a new life. As for the rest of the Griffin household, i'm sure you can imagine what would've happened afterwards without Meg chosing to continue being their "lightning rod" that scene could ended differently. With Lois & Peter getting a divorce, Lois taking Stewie, Peter taking Chris, and Brian could go with either one, or going off on his own (or maybe he joins Meg when she runs away, since he understands where she's coming from and wants to support her when nobody else would. That or maybe something else). I'm writting a better ending for this episode (and potentially the entire show for that matter) as i go along with this shit. The people in charge of this show where actually getting paid to write this show, and yet they where failing at EVERYTHING!!!

The lazy, neglectful alcoholic commander who needs the child soldier she raises for to be her maid and who turns a blind eye to the abuse he receives from the other child in her own fucking home? Returning to this after years, as it was one of my favorite parts of "Family Guy". The fact that Meg changed her mind and let them go back to abusing her was what made me decide to stop watching FG for good.

I'm so glad that, meg finally stood up for herself, since her family has treated her like crap! Especially peter, since he's been bullying and abusing her since season 4, and Chris and lois has done the same things like that, i mean i don't blame meg for also stooding up for herself to her own father, since peter has being a total jerk, selfish, blue collar Irish catholic braindeaded idiot father, who drinks way too much and barely spends time with his own daughter and makes enough money to support his family. This is like peter's character in seasons 10-12 and mostly in later seasons since he's insufferable and flanderization, man child, and terrorist, and likes to put others into danger, including himself.

This is one of the best moments in the entire series. Meg had every right to snap at everyone and say the hurtful things for everything she’s endured from them. I don’t feel bad at all for Peter and Lois when they break down crying because sometimes, you have to snap at people in order to show them how truly hurtful they’ve been to you. I only wish the writers didn’t make her apologize for what she did because it defeats the purpose of this whole situation. Meg deserves so much better.

“I didn’t ask to be in this family.” If I heard that, and I were Meg, that would have ANGERED ME EVEN MORE, because that’s a CLEAR play-the-victim card. And actually, Peter, YOU DID ASK TO BE IN THE FAMILY WHEN YOU MARRIED LOIS, AND GAVE BIRTH TO YOUR CHILDREN! HOW SELFISH OF YOU TO SAY THAT!

Meg finally stood up. I find NO reason for Lois or Chris to defend Peter or why Chris thought Peters humming was funny since he did NOT look like it. And WORSE is that Meg took back everything & that its the only thing that keeps the family together. 1 of the reasons why Family Guy needs to change, be friendlier again, replace their writers & make Peter, Lois, Brian Etc Etc Etc nicer again.
