Mega Man 6 NES Boss Battles remix new music
Mega Man 6 is a platformer computer game developed by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is the sixth installment in the original Mega Man series and was released in Japan on November 5, 1993 and North America the following March. Additionally, the game was included in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection compilation released in 2004. The first PAL release took place on June 11, 2013 on the 3DS Virtual Console, almost twenty years after the game's original release.
The plot of Mega Man 6 is about a competition of fighting robots with participants from all over the world. During the tournament, a sinister figure calling himself "Mr. X" announces that he has reprogrammed eight powerful robots in order to use them to take over the world. The game's protagonist, Mega Man, who was sent to the competition as an observer, decides to stop Mr. X's plans. Mega Man 6 is a standard platformer and plays virtually no different from its five predecessors, with the exception of a few features such as alternate paths through levels and new Rush Adapters.
Mega Man 6 is the first game in the series to feature character designs influenced by feedback from players outside of Japan. The project appeared at the end of the Nintendo Entertainment System's life cycle and became the last part of the series released on the eight-bit console. Due to the loss of support for the NES and the widespread availability of the new, more powerful Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Capcom decided not to publish Mega Man 6 in North America. Instead, the game was released by Nintendo of America. Reviewers praised the game's quality and use of the established gameplay model, but almost all of them considered the sequel unnecessary.
Although the first five Mega Man games were available through the Virtual Console service on the Wii console, Mega Man 6 was not featured on the Wii Shop channel, although the game was released through the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service in Japan, Europe and North America on June 20, 2013. The game was also released on the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan, Europe, and North America on May 14, July 24, and August 21, 2014, respectively.
