Picked up one of the Indonesian-made 5 string models from a pawnshop a couple days ago, thing is brand new except for a couple of chips in the paint on the bottom back side of the body. Didn't even know it was an Ellefson signature until I saw his name on the receipt. Since then I've been really getting into Megadeth. Never really got any exposure to them prior to this, but they're a ton of fun to listen to, and a real challenge to learn. Your bass is fantastic Jackson, and I'm very glad to have it

I have a JS3Q. My first Jackson. I paid like $150 for it and it was basically brand new. I was impressed by what a bass that is like $350 retail new. Compound radius and the binding on the neck are two things that you notice right away. Its not going to replace my Spector, but the Spector costs 5x what the Jackson did. Anyway,I was just playing the Jackson and telling myself that I basically stole the thing. I was feeling good. Then I watched this video and saw that beauty that Jackson made in their custom shop for Dave. Awesome bass and that case is badass.

That actually happens with me with a normal fender strat, I just put a piece of foam or something with a hole in the middle under the knob, it usually adds enough friction

David Late response asf, but it’s because his strings have less tension than the norm, and it’s because he switches between hard picking and soft picking, which makes a more scratchy sound with round wound strings Plus he doesn’t use much lows lately, it’s mostly mid’s so he can cut through the mix, hence forth the buzz sound because it’s probably as a raw a bass can sound without lows (plus he doesn’t have the volume very loud, which makes the sound crappy).
