Thanks for your requests!!! Had a lot of fun with this tune! I watched some live videos, I noticed Mustaine grabs some chords with an upstroke. Sometimes he uses alternate strokes for the verse riff, other times I see him only using downstrokes. How do you feel it out? I guess that is the most important thing. I went with downstrokes with the whole song except for the intro riff. For the solo, he plays it different live. I cover the original take. And for this version, it didn’t sound to me like he does any crazy finger stretches in measure 198. I went with my gut. Have fun with this one guys! Thanks for your support!

This solo really exposed my weaknesses as a guitar player. Marty is so outside the box in comparison to most metal guitarists with his approach to solo writing and application of theory.
@anonymouswombat8538
2 жыл бұрын
Right ? He is so sophisticated and technical, yet organic and full of taste. As i grow old, most of the "classic metal" solo work has grown stale on me. Having mostly moved into other genres, Marty is the guy that i turn back to from time to time, and i cant help but smile. His solos are still hard to play even today, and they still sound as fresh and as original as ever. They absolutely hold up. Damn, they are still some of the finest work a metal soloist has done, even by today's guitar standards. Absolutely untouchable.

I've tried absolutely every type of string brand and make out there. I noticed that fun snap at the end and I'm one of the hardest players! I used to break 2-3 strings a set at times! I learned to use more of a medium gauge pick, but still had string breaking problems. I found the DR Hi-beams, as that's what Dimebag was playing. Those were great for a while and I loved the hex core. I loved the Exliers once they came out, but hated the shedding. The Nano's were better, but they still were very stiff and seemed to collect dirt and oils. DR came out with the Black Beauties and that's the last string I'll ever buy again! The coating is essentially not there. I can't feel them and I have autism and sensory issues. I can feel a zit on a fly's ass! LOL But it's almost impossible to break these! and the tone!! WOW!! Full lows and bright highs. I use them for everything... plus they look cool as they're black. AMAZING work on this song btw! One of my all time favs! I just bought a Jackson Kelly just to learn this with. LOL Been playing since 1980, I gave up on this song back in the 90s..I'm here to attempt it again! Rock on bro!!!
