An exploration of Tiryns in Argos, Greece, a huge cyclopean citadel built during the Mycenaean era (1600 BC), but has evidence of earlier building going back to at least 2700 BC, contemporary with the polygonal Hellinikon Pyramid nearby ( • Pyramids of Ancient Gr... ). The earliest occupation dates to 9000 years ago. Heracles the great hero was said to have begun performing his 12 labours here and it was always thought to be built by cyclops giants. It has ancient drill holes suggesting a high technology present at the site and huge megalithic blocks, tunnels and chambers. Presented by Hugh Newman, with Jj Ainsworth, and our friends Cameron and Leda who live in Greece.
