Just got told off by my GP for saying I'm anemic because I have low folate and the pharmacist called it "megaloblastic anaemia" so I just assumed it was anemia? - low iron! It's so complicated when you don't understand things, I probably look a bit odd now lol. It would help if the GP explained it better - (like this.) Thank you for your help.

My cells are a normal size though and I eat well but b12 was a little low and I don't drink alcohol and I don't have celiac 😕

MTHFR defect also requires folate and B12 supplementation.

Recently I checked my folic acid it’s 0.47 ng/ml is that normal? And also increased Red cells distribution width (RDW-CV) and i have symptoms, is that normal? What should I do?

Low folate anemia is when the low folate levels affects your ability to make normal red blood cells, so you get more severe symptoms.

So I get blood test they say I have folic acid deficiency but instead of telling me what foods to eat they just give me a dam tablet
