Old hunt, NEW video!
Join me as I go searching for teeth of the extinct species Otodus obliquus, the ancestor of the famous megalodon (the largest shark to ever exist)! This site preserves fossils from the Paleocene Epoch (66-56 million years ago). Most of the teeth found here belonged to a variety of sand tiger-like sharks, but occasionally you can find other goodies like tiny crocodile teeth and fish mouth plates. This was a very successful hunt! I can’t wait to get back out there.
If you’re planning on attending the 2023 Aurora Fossil Festival and wondering if I’ll be there, the answer is yes! I’ll see you this weekend!
