Melbourne Legacy volunteer Noelle Pratt says the Andrews’ government does not understand the significance of ANZAC Day, and adds she is worried if it is cancelled this year it will never return.
“I don’t think the premier and the state government really do understand what it means to the families and even to the grandchildren,” she said.
Ms Pratt says it is important to commemorate and remember the soldiers who sacrificed so much for Australia and she does not want families to miss out on the opportunity to honour their families.
“If the ANZAC Day march doesn’t go ahead this year, it might never possibly go ahead again.”
