I've played Mystery of the Abbey a few times, but it was a long time ago. I enjoy deduction games, but I remember at least one game where we struggled to solve the mystery because one of the players accidently gave wrong info.

Have you ever tried The Great Zimbabwe? It is very different to Five Tribes, yet it scratches a similar itch with being a spatial puzzle with an unique bidding for turn order mechanic. They are both among my favourite games, and in my surrounding, everybody who likes one, also likes the other.

Dominion will always have a place in my heart, but I also have a hard time getting it to the table. I look at my wall-o-games and gravitate towards Clank in Space!, Quest for El Dorado, Thunderstone Quest, and even Hero/Star Realms. Those Deck Builders are just more fun, thematic, and the first three I mentioned have a great table presence. Then your #2 is TIME STORIES ... and GRATZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG that is incredible and I can't wait to play your scenario !!! Have you tried 7th Continent? Just heard mine arrived on my porch today and hear if you like TIME you're like 7th ...

I really like Dominion too, but we have one problem with it: my partner always buys silver (and not a lot of actions). I usely buy a lot of actions. But at a certain point he can start buying provinces and quickly wins the game. How to beat this strategy? (We have base game + intrigue + seaside + hinterland)
@tantrumhousegames
4 жыл бұрын
I would say there is a good strategy of buying cards that thin out your deck so that you can get to your good cards faster. That should easily beat the "buy silver" strategy. I've bought a chapel and trashed a bunch of the low victory points and some coppers on my third and fourth turns and it is amazing what that can do for your gameplay.

Still trying to wrap my head around Kevin considering Agricola the best worker placement. Honestly I'd consider Purto Rico only mediocre, but it's leagues better than Agricola, so it's not like he hasn't touched any of the many better titles in the genre... Is it some sort of sigh inducing hipster nostalgia thing, like people who say Megaman 2 is the greatest video game of all time and their favorite movie is Psycho?
