In this video Rich demonstrates how to use the Time Handles in Melodyne to edit audio. First he discusses how to set up the timing grid to best work with timing adjustments. He goes on to display the ‘Spread Unison Tracks’ function which makes editing vocals and doubles easier. Then, Rich shows the power of Melodyne in the ability to adjust either the vocal or the double, choosing the best performance for each phrase as desired. Next, he uses the Timing tool and the Time Handle tool to tighten up the vocal performances. He also displays the flexibility of timing editing the pitched portion of the vocal vs the sibilant portion, and how the Sibilant tool can be used here as well to help. Next, he discusses which visual references can be used to help with getting the timing tight. Finally, he illustrates how the Timing Handle tool can be used to alter the character of an individual performance.
