Yes, you plant various types of seed with a planter. The difference is that a seeder is more of a controlled "spill" of seed out of a tank whereas a planter is more precise at seed placement. Seeders use "pounds per acre" for a rate (usually) and Planters use "seeds per acre". Thus, they both seed seeds, but one is more precise. It is more of a way to identify precision. IMO

Here in Western Pennsylvania on our farm we plant 26,500 finds the acre for ear corn with 200 lb 122424 through the planner, and then run 100 lb of urea on per acre in cultivated in at about ankle high. We are at the 4th of July currently a little short on water since planting and are corn is waist high

I bet you get to see a lot of rainbows bc it’s so flat there you can see for miles. My husband rode along with me to client’s house (I pet sit, barn animals too) on a mountaintop farm in PA. I mean mountain TOP. We could see the fields on the other side of the valley farmed sideways & wondered how they keep from rolling. He looked at me & said “now that’s farming on a hill”. I told him I wished I could show you. All our fields but a few are on massive hills. The Amish horse plow a lot of them too. Amazing to watch.

One of them thar new-fangled DeereCase tractor and planter rigs, by gum. Hee hee! Don't mind me, I'm just doin' a jig by the pot bellied stove. 'Twarn't yesterday I was sayin' "By gum, sure'd be some strange if Tony Fast ever had one of them green machines on his farm and lo and behold, there it is. What's next, that Zach fella having a big red machine running all over his fields? Land's sakes, whatever will be next?"😂

I feel like I fell down the rabbit hole. Tony Fast planting CORN in a JD corn planter. Would be like pulling a video up of Larson’s or Zach Johnson planting peanuts in Minnesota. But I bet this year’s corn will do much better planted correctly plus it looks like the drought (God willing) has ended. You’ve had much more moisture in the last 2 years then Welkers tho. Harvest is so heart breaking to watch there. We’re all praying for Montana to be Blessed with rain. Last thing we need is the CCP who bought our land up to do better then American farmers. That makes me physically sick. Should be illegal.

Yet you call another seeder a drill, which makes no sense at all. At lease a planter plants the seed in the ground. On a deill, there is no drill in sight. And it also plants seeds in the geound. 🤔
