I had the same issue happen to my robot charging base. Did you figure out the root cause of the melting? Because I’ve seen this in a couple of bases. I think there is a systemic issue.

I really don't know. We thought it might have been something to do with the alginate impression powder, being that it was in a dentist office. My assumption would be a drop in resistance across the terminal, causing a high current. The melted part appears to be focused around the contact, and not anywhere else.

Have you had any remelting issues with the contact switch?

Not that I'm aware of. I did learn of high-temp filament that is baked after printing to "cure" it. If remelting an issue, I'm going to try that.
