We had some snow in England and I wanted to clear it from the path so what better way that to use a model jet engine!
The engine is a jet central super bee producing around 14 pound of thrust,
The exhaust temperature is around 500 degrees centigrade,
It runs on jet fuel, kerosene, white spirit, paraffin or diesel with 5% motorcycle two stroke oil mixed in as some of the fuel is bypassed to lubricate the bearings.
The idle speed (tick over) is 60,000 RPM and maximum is 180,000 RPM using a compressor from a turbocharger and a very small axial turbine made from inconel.
These engines are widely used in radio controlled model jet aircraft and with the wings on this the aircraft would fly at speeds of over 100mph
The airframe is a Mick Reeves super reaper.
