YES! I believe the biggest takeaway for me is that my body is actually trying to help me making me feel anxious. It’s telling me that something in my environment seems like a threat to me - and my work is to know why. It can be a real threat but, what I have noticed in myself, is that most of the time it is not - it’s just the emotional attachment that I still carry from my childhood from a situation that I interpreted and felt like threat - but that it might not have been in reality (and I was too little to realize that).

I love that she "called him out" and made him open his eyes and slow down a little bit because if she hadn't, he wouldn't have. She was right, he was working himself to death trying to prove something and there was no need for it. She just reminded him that she/they loved him for who he was right then and there and there was nothing financially speaking that said he HAD to go do those speaking engagements, at least not at that point in time, unless he just WANTED to.

💜💜💜Love this talk. Biggest takeaway would be that one must be honest with self about where you’re currently at in the moment and where you’re heading, and if that’s the direction you want to be going in. Be in the moment with loved ones so that they feel safe being in your presence and feel cherished.💜💜💜

I truly enjoyed this episode. Anxiety has been a huge factor in most of my life. Not realizing I spent most of my life in fight or flight without realizing it, I did fall into substance abuse but proud to say I was able to conquer with changing the belief about being good enough. I did struggle with the feeling like I was depressed but being explained that was normal just unknown to me. Great questions and my favorite was how can I love you today? I also liked when he said hug before bed with your partner bc that is an amazing feeling 💓

Hey guys, great conversation. It's so refreshing and helpful to see men having these kinds of conversations. I have a complicated question for you. I'll try not to overload you with too many details. My question is how does one deal with anxiety that's not caused or driven by avoidance or ignoring a problem or situation, but is caused by fear of the future, projection of one's incorrect ideas, or ones creativity creating a future that is not real or at the very least hasn't happened yet. I create false narratives to something that "could" happen and it fills me with anxiety and dread. I have conversations in my head with people that I'll never have in reality, or I create scenarios that may not happen. But I worry and fret over them so much that the thoughts consume my inner attention for days and cause me many sleepless nights.

look at how many times worst case scenario has come true. Write out the ways you would still be okay even if worst case scenario came true (how you would pivit, adjust, who could support you temporarily), lastly realize that uncomfortable situations help our growth. We shouldn't wish for a life of 24/7 ease. You are way more capable to deal with probelms then you think. There is a solution to every problem and tough times don't last forever. Lastly, question the stories you are telling yourself, because that's what they are, stories! Try and balance out worst case scenario with best case scenario as well :)

Anxiety, like depression or anger or any emotional experience can be a great teacher. Mindfulness meditation helps with identifying this. Books like "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels do a good job helping me escape the thinking mind and observe thoughts and emotions objectively. I also benefit from journaling every day.

Mental health is a vital aspect of our overall well-being, encompassing our emotional, psychological, and social stability. It is not a sign of weakness to face mental health challenges; rather, seeking support and understanding is a courageous step towards healing. Stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health persist, highlighting the need for increased awareness and empathy. Taking care of our mental health is as crucial as tending to our physical health, fostering resilience, and enabling us to lead fulfilling lives.

Knowing that substance abuse is an escape and this is why others run to it. I ran to it most of my life. I have now stepped away only to now realize that I have anxiety and embrace it to change it. I’m learning how to relax now with the I am enough and I am human and value me.
