Timo Boll, the name represents honesty, humbleness, commitment, sincerity, dedication and persistence in Table Tennis. One of the statements he said is similar to ".. don't think for loss or victory (i.e. results) but focus on your work"...is similarly advised in Holy Bhagavad Gita.

Thanks for the advice. I have been playing table tennis for about 10 years and have been losing almost 90% of matches. This gives me too much stress 😬 and not enjoying anymore table tennis. I am just playing to win which almost never happened. My mental strength collapses during a match especially in the last round. Many people are telling me to stop playing if it gives me stress and I think they are right but I just can't stop... I have tried to overcome my weak mentality by stopping table tennis a month when I get too much stress, having lessons by professional players, buying good quality equipment, etc. Well, at the end of the day, I lose. 😢 Trying to be positive and trying to enjoy table tennis itself but it's too hard. Sorry about my complaints.

What to do if you´ve lost a several times 9:11 in the fifth set? And some of these games after leading in the decider? And every time you are going in the fifth set you are afraid of losing, especially at the end of the set, at 8:8 or something like that. And your body is full of tense or sometimes weakness, and your mind is a tunnel with an oncoming locomotive. I have nightmares of this situation. Yesterday I have lost again: 9:11 in the fifth set. I am thinking about going to give up matches at all, and only go to training... sad.

@Duende70

@@peterkajan6645 The problem get less intense because I got a lot of technical training so my playing skills are better now. If the fifth-set-tunnel appears I take longer time for my serves, if I go behind in points I take time-out. If I loose I concentrate on next game, not any longer on the lost game.

Hi Timo, what you are talking about is called The Law of Attraction. Humanity knows about it's principles since forever but very few individuals understand how to use it. I am curious, did someone teach you or did you learn about it yourself? The other thing you speak about is "being in the moment", living in the present instant. What this does is remove fear and lets you unleash all your potential. Try to improve your own self by removing all negative words. Use only affirmative statements. Looks like that is the next step for you :) Bye.
