I've missed you! So good to see you all! My hubby and I have been together since 1973, we married in 1979. One thing I can say throughout our marriage is this- "This too, shall pass!" We go through seasons, and when we are through that season, we think on it and talk through what worked and what didn't. We learned from each other. Take the social media break you need, family first! After so many years together, we get to look back and sometimes when we have a little bump in the road, (like when our youngest didn't sleep through the night for three years!) we look at one another and say "is it as bad as Kate not sleeping through the night for three years? And then we laugh because that was the worst, And we lived through it! Sarah, I'm praying Sonny begins to sleep through the night.🙏💕

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but you two have similar moral values and life goals. People think compalabilty comes from having similar hobbies, personal interests, and other arbitrary wants. But, just because you like hiking, but your partner loves swimming, it doesn't make you incompatable. You are your own person, even in a relationship. You don't give up your identity just because it doesn't readily mash with someone else. As long as you have similar goals for life, i.e. marriage, kids, house. And, agree morally on how to achieve those goals, and a similar time line, then the fact you have the same favorite movie, food, or sports team is just a bonus.

Then 6 months after they told me I had to have 2 of my cervical spine lifted….. I did’t even want to hear surgery but I did it…I am getting better now….but I totally understand the feeling of not being useful….because I keep my house very clean and it made me so sad that I couldn’t do it… you both are doing a great job…don’t ever give up….even when the going gets tough….proud of you both!!

Social media is terrible. I stay off it as much as possible. When it comes to my relationship with my wife, we prioritize our relationship over the kids (yes, we still love them) but our relationship is what keeps the family together and we always make time for each other. So many couples forget this when kids are involved. You're a wife 1st, mother 2nd, this is how everyone in my family has done it and has always been successful. I think broadcasting yourself, children and life online is a difficult and foolish thing to do.

I'm really happy to say this as well. My Mother told me this many, many years ago! I am 84 yrs old now but it stuck in my mind for all these years. It doesn't mean the children are neglected. It simply means your husband is most important in your relationships. You should hear the reactions I get if I say this! So many women say their kids come first, and many men feel very left out when this happens. They seem to feel the wife only "used" them to have babies then kind of forgot them. So sad.

Derick, please don't try to rush your recovery, because it will only cause more problems with your body. Because it's a lesson, I learned it the hard way and it caused me to have 4 surgery procedures, within a 3 months time frame. I still have 5 more weeks of recovery left to go, since my last surgery 3 weeks ago. Dude, I know Sarah needs your help, but I don't want you to wind up like me. Sarah, hang in there girl, you've got this. But count your blessings, you have a great group of friends and family members who love y'all so much and they'll be there for you, anytime you're feeling like you're getting overwhelmed and need some help with something. Because I use to be the baby of a very large family, but now I'm an orphan and have no one, except for my husband and a couple of close friends. So I know what it's like, to have everything dropped onto your shoulders and have no one who can help you carry the load. Love ya both bunches and your beautiful children too!! Hugs!! ❤❤❤❤

Glad to hear you're settling in well and Derrick is on the mend. I don't think anyone would be surprised or offended to not see any content from you for a while. The amount of stress from a huge move with little ones, potty training, sleep training, unpacking, setting things up, regular daily chores and appointments... then add social media upkeep... that's a heck of a lot on one's plate. Take it easy, take a breather and take in all that you have to be thankful for. You deserve it. Hope next post we can see Derrick feeling better, and up and moving more... From a mom of 5: 2 day Low stress at home vacation. TIP: It will not go completely smoothly and that’s ok. The point is, it’s low key and you are just switching gears for a little while. First day - The kids go to grandparents/dad - maybe one each. Then have a couple teens lined up, (from church?) and with you present and giving instructions, have them help you with one specific room/area. No more than maybe 4 hours. They work cheap, they want to do a good job for you and you can pencil in some time for them to play with the kids while you do work in the same/next room. Second day - leave teens to finish the previous day’s work without you. (Rearrange later if need be, it just needs put away as you directed them - ON PAPER!) Grab up the kids for low key half day of fun at a park or just outside at the house! The point is low stress. End of day - can be done at end of first day as well. You’ll need comfy clothes and take the babies for a walk and just talk about anything as long as it’s NOT important! Antics, practical jokes, parenting oops, etc. as long as it’s funny/silly and nothing to do with houses or moves. BREATHE! Some say never go to bed angry. I say always go to bed laughing. I’ve done plenty of silly/stupid things if you need suggestions.

I was just looking for a new video from y’all (even though I have the notifier on, I still look. Lol). Six weeks seemed like six years, and the timing of the surgery was unfortunate but like Sarah said, it’s all up from here. Keep going to PT and doing the exercises. It’s been obvious in the videos since the surgery how tough this has been on all of you, but it sounds like the worst is behind you. The next 6 weeks won’t be as bad as the last. Derik, take it easy though. Can only imagine how tough it’s been to sit it out, but if you overdo it now, that’ll probably be in the same category as doing something foolish. What I’m hearing is that the biggest help for Sarah will be for you to help with the kids. You two need a weekend away together, then Sarah needs a few days with her girlfriends.

Hang in there! Sleep deprivation can not be underestimated when it comes to mood, decision-making, accidents, etc. Try to rest when you can and love your babies-sometimes you just have to take a 20 minute nap. Good luck with everything-you will get things the way you like them!

Hi Sarah and Derek, love your videos. I wanted to comment on the question about more babies…I am a Board Certified Therapist, and a Mom to two adult children one with ADHD, who is a Dad and a nephew who has Asperger's syndrome and is a Dad. I wanted to give you two advise like an Auntie would after watching this video. Let me say I love that you two are able to talk to each other so openly…that bodes well for the future! So Bravo! Now for the no BS Auntie advice...(1)Optimally and medically proven…a women’s body, hormones and emotions need around 2 plus years to optimally heal before another child is conceived…………(2) If you think things are stressful now..wait..it’s 100 times this current chaos as children’s school, friends, attitudes and hormones interfere with what you want and or need.. add homework, tantrums, school plays, sports games all at the same time!! Stress off the planet! Is Real!! The more children the more this is amplified. ….(3) People with mental/memory issues similar to yours Derek, are not going to suddenly start to remember things better because you want that. There are tools that need to be put in place to decrease forgetfulness..like small tablets for all “Remember” notes and yellow sticky notes on mirrors, lunch boxes, car windows, avoiding family stress and cortisol elevating crisis modes, effecting your family’s quality of life. The forgetfulness will actually get worse as life gets busier and more complicated, leaving many more responsible decisions and responsibilities on Sarah’s shoulders. Yes you love each other but be super realistic! What happens if (4) money becomes tight and the job you do now goes away.. that’s a huge reality and the more children you have the more you have to pay for food etc..(Go study people like yourselves with similar issues like yours Derek’s that have more than 2 older children..even that have grown children.. think about those Very real scenarios..even act them out at home). Then make decisions based upon that!….It’s not fun but essential!!! Ok done…God bless you two…Love to your sweet family❤️❤️❤️

Derik, stop putting yourself down. It’s sweet that you talk so highly of Sarah, but you’re constantly talking down on yourself. You clearly do a lot, and recovering from surgery is a big deal. I just noticed this theme in your videos. Best wishes to both of you. 💕

Please don’t answer that. There is a couple on here that tell everything private and it makes me ill. The husband is so disrespectful of his wife and tells all her personal private business including sexual things and sexual health. He talks about her like she’s a cow out in the field. Thank you so much for being respectful to each other and your fans out here. I love you guys.

3 years ago I had knee surgery. Acl replacement and meniscus repair. Worst surgery ever. It took me forever to bend my knee, learn to walk again, or be able to get on the floor and back up. Take your time and heal. Also, Sarah needs a day to rest.
