Hi, I’m Officer Dan Radigan with the Mentor Police Department.
Halloween is an exciting holiday for young children.
I’m going to give you some tips on keeping your kids safe this Halloween season.
Avoid walking alone. Travel in groups and walk with an adult.
Wear bright, flame-resistant costumes or use reflective tape to help motorists see you.
Use sidewalks when you can and always look when crossing the street.
Stay in familiar neighborhoods.
Avoid wearing masks that block your vision and costumes that can trip you while you’re walking.
And, of course, examine treats for choking hazards and tampering before you eat them.
Trick or Treating in Mentor is October 31st from 6 to 8 pm.
As always, Mentor Police have extra officers on patrol on Halloween night.
So have fun, stay safe, and have a good Halloween!
