Fg 400 has been a staple in my arsenal for years. Hard to decide whether I like fast correcting cream more than this. I just love how well this finishes down. Especially on lighter colours it finishes to LSP ready.

Nice job James! Good to see content like this from the best retailer for detailing supplies. I love the 400. For a very long time it has been my go-to for heavier correction. While I like the smell, it does seem to make me a bit dizzy, however it doesn't matter if I need the cut.

The entire Menzerna lineup can be used on headlights to help remove oxidation, swirls, scratches, etc. Just pair with a polishing pad and perform a few test spots to find the combination that works best for the headlights you are working on.

@@DetailedImage Yeah I just sanded a large area and 2 other areas. Then used the menzerna 400 which gave it a gloss effect like a brand new car. But it takes 3 or 4 attempts to remove the sandpaper scratches. Good product to blend in touch up paint after wet sanding, and no need to wax or polish afterwards. It did leave a little haze that I did not see before. Would simple car polish be OK to remove the slight haze.

They are all pretty similar. For me, the M110 dusts more than the other two. I get more cut our of the 400, but the fast correction cream finishes down slightly better. You really are splitting hairs here though as all are fantastic options.

You said firm pressure but most detailers say the opposite, they say let the pad and compound do the work and you shouldn’t use firm pressure , just very minimal pressure
@DetailedImage
2 жыл бұрын
It all comes down to personal preference, the polisher you are using, what type of correction you are after, etc. In most instances minimal pressure when using a long throw polisher will work great, but bumping it up to firm pressure when heavy imperfections are present may be necessary.

Do I need the next step 2400 ? Or can I just skip to the. Polish 3500 this is for quick sell of csr
@DetailedImage
8 ай бұрын
It all depends on your paint and the condition after compounding. With that said, 3500 is a big jump from the 400, so I would recommend a light correction option like the 3000 or 2500. Just perform a test spot and inspect the results to find what combo will work best for your specific situation.

I have a 6 years old car which has never been polished/compound at all except after paint repair at workshop and regular washing and waxing occasionally. I'm about to perform compounding/polishing with Menzerna, which one should I use for my car? 1000+2400+3800 or 400+3800 ?
@DetailedImage
2 жыл бұрын
You always want to start with a light pad/polish combo first. This "test spot" will show if a light correction option will do the trick or if you will need to bump up the power to something stronger. The 3800 offers very minimal correction, so I would use something like the 3500 to start and bump up to the 2500 and/or 400 if needed.

Thanks a lot for this informative video. My question is simple. Would you recommend Menzerna 400 heavy cut or Menzerna 2500. Which one would you recommend to a beginner/amateur user as a one step compound? (Just forget about their prices) thank you in advance.
@DetailedImage
2 жыл бұрын
Menzerna 400 is a compound used to remove heavy imperfections. I would not recommend using this if your goal is to perform a one step polishing process, as it will most likely leave behind some compounding haze that needs a lighter pad/polish combo as a follow up. The 2500 when paired with a light corrective pad is a great one step option aimed to correct light to medium imperfections.

Ultimate Compound will offer more cut and not finish down as well. I would use the 2500 for sure if a one step is what you are looking for.

Can I use a polish n wax after? Or before?
@DetailedImage
5 ай бұрын
You will want to inspect the paint and correct with only the highest correction needed. Meaning, you only want to use a heavy compound like the 400 if you have imperfections that need it. If you do use the 400, you would follow up with a lighter pad and polish combo to remove compounding haze and finish the paint down to perfection.

The Menzerna 400 is a polish, so it will not stay on the paint as protection. It is designed to remove imperfections in the paint and if you see imperfections forming after a wash, it is due to your wash process. Check out this post on how to properly wash and dry a car to avoid wash induced swirls (www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/how-to-properly-wash-and-dry-a-car/).

All of them offer pretty similar cutting power and it really comes down to finding what you personally like best. The Menzerna 400 however does finish down very nice which is why I lean towards reaching for the 400 in most cases.

Hi James how does Meguiars ultra polishing wax compare to Meguiars D301
@DetailedImage
2 жыл бұрын
These are similar, but the D301 was specially formulated to be used with the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Cutting Pads. The Ultra is designed more to be used with foam pads. Either however can be used with both types of pads, so find what works best for you!

Does it fix deep scratches??
@DetailedImage
Жыл бұрын
It depends on the scratches and how deep they are. If paired with a wool or heavy corrective pad you can remove a great deal of imperfections. However "deep" scratches makes it seem like they are through the clear and in those cases you will have to wet sand for proper removal.

All paint types can be different, so I would test a light corrective option first before jumping right to the 400. If you already used the 400, follow up with a lighter pad/polish combo like the Menzerna 2500 and a white pad to help remove compounding haze.
