The best (by far) directions for this job on the Internet. Have just finished the installation on a '06 W211 using the equipment you recommended . The ball joint tool didn't have instructions but figured out the fitting on the end of the "bolt" can be removed and changed to install the new ball joint. They are shipped dry so use a good quality grease on the "bolt"...Many thanks!

I'll try and explain as best as I can. The initial torque is like a zero reference point. The reason they use a torque angle is that straight torque can be influenced by lubrication and the amount of force it takes to turn the bolt or nut. They want a certain amount of stretch on a bolt or nut. So torque angle is a much more accurate way of achieving that.

Excellent instructions, very detailed and high quality video! Unfortunately after finishing the repair ABS and ESP malfunction messages appeared. Did I somehow damaged the speed sensor? @@InitechAuto Initially, I assumed that the heavy steering was due to wheel misalignment after replacing the ball joint and torque arm, however, after performing an alignment at a tire shop the problem was not solved. After an internet search I realized that there is a link between the wheel speed sensor and the steering feel. I made a mistake while re-installing the wheel speed sensor: I placed it above the cap! This created ABS ESP error messages and heavy steering. After placing the sensor under the cap, as you do in your video, all problems were solved.

On this car I think I installed Delphi's. Bilsteins are a good choice as well. If your looking for heavy duty. Try Meyle's HD. I have never used them however.
