I just changed out a 722.6 in a wrangler and it shift 1st 2nd 3rd on intial start up but then stays in third and throws gear ratio codes, i caint find any reason for the codes to be thrown. Have you heard of this issue before?

You'll need to make sure the mechatronic unit and the ECM are compatible. If you installed a unit from a different vehicle it won't work so make sure you have the correct unit for this vehicle, if so you need to reprogram the system.

Is it possible to have a 722.6 p0700 code gear implausible and complete loss of drive due to bad grounding?
@atra-automatictransmission1300

Yes, the 722.6 uses a Latch Valve system which can create a neutral condition .

@@atra-automatictransmission1300 Wow i'll check all the grounds! Also does the modulating and shift pressure are supposed to hold pressure if testing with 20psi of compressed air? Or they lightly leak?

Is it true that a healthy 722.6 should never go backwars uphill when into "D" without pressing brakes and gas pedal? Please end my suffering I cannot find any answer as to what a healthy 722.6 should operate like...
@atra-automatictransmission1300

That would be correct. D stands for Drive, which is forward. R stands for Reverse. If it's going in reverse while in the D position, check your linkage first.

@@atra-automatictransmission1300 Thanks for the answer, however that wasn't the context of my question. I will try my best to formulate the question better: If you are driving and decide to stand still on a mildly steep hill and the car is put into "D" and you don't push on the brakes or the gas pedal, is it normal for the car to roll backwards or not? People say that if the transmission is healthy the car should never roll backwards when uphill. Just like it's healthy/good that the car starts moving the moment you put it "D" or "R". I am not talking about the issue when you you put the car into Drive that it goes in reverse.

I had a complete transmission failure 07 Mercedes E-Class 722.6. No engagement or movement in forward or reverse. I drained the fluid, removed just the valve body and installed the transgo kit and sonnax overlap sleeves and tcc damper valve upgrade parts as well as a new transmission filter. The car is driving now but something felt a bit weird, so I checked the torque converter live data stream on my scan tool and I am seeing it go from status "open" to "open + slipping" or just "slipping" as it moves through thee gears. Does this indicate a torque converter failure? I'm trying to do a DIY analysis so I was wondering should it read "open" then either "closed" or "locked"? Also in attempting to find the correct replacement torque converter part number i'm seeing these 3 different types./ *A 211 250 09 02* / *A 211 250 12 02* / *A 221 250 20 02* I was wondering if you can help me narrow it down to the correct one.(see engine and transmission info below) M - Engine: 271956 30 844344 271.956 M271 KE18 ML R4 GASOLINE ENGINE M271 KE18 ML REPOGA - Automatic transmission: 722695 06 706128 722.695 W 5 A 330 AUTOMATIC FIVE-SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH CONVERTER

the converter is supposed to slip during shifts, that's normal operation. As for the converter, you can contact your local dealer for a part number of check out one of these websites : www.wittrans.com/ www.floridatorqueconverters.com/
