This is Eden from Hongkong, nice to have this video I suspect that my car ECU is faulty. I have replaced many mechanical components, the idle still have little problems I have a question. Would u think the ECU is damage due to the ovp is broken before? Are their fault co related? Thank you In advance
@mercedeske

Hi, Eden. Thanks. As for the OVP - its task IS to prevent the ECU from any damage, so the answer is NO! As for your other question - the answer is NO as well. The CO screw has influence on the potentiometer which signalizes the ECU where the sensor plate is located. The ECU is actually a transformer that collects all the data from the sensors and transforms them in mAmps which it sends to the EHA , ICV, X11 and X11/4. If you have replaced mechanical components, measure now the potentiometer, the lambda(if present), the coolant temperature sensor, the micro switch and the TPS. Those are the most important because the sensors have to be in order for the ECU to work properly. The only way to damage the ECU is to unplug it while your car is on ingnition! Long story short - you have done the major steps now you will have to do the electronic upgrade of the system. Fingers crossed and Happy Mercedesing!

@@mercedeske Thanks for the advise. to make me clear, let me ask in other way. Will a damaged OVP lead to a damage ECU?

Hi I'm wondering what Kind of Mercedes that I own lately I tried to figure out some problems in it's Engine and there's many common things that you described in the video my Mercedes is 190E 1984 It's engine can start and travel for long distances without ECU !! There was a problem with the wire harness ... a mouse 🐭 ate it and disconnected the ground signal of the ECU I tried also to disconnect it completely because i was curious how it's working without ECU and yeah that's real known that ... I didn't find oxygen sensor in my model and no ICV control from ECU It's ICV looks different from yours and has wire harness to another element not the ECU There's EHA, Air flow potentiometer, throttle open close switches or sensors, and coolant temperature sensor Do you have any idea about that ? :)

Hi. As, for the ECU - The KE-Jetronic engine can completely run without the ECU(a bit worse engine running, higher consumption, worse acceleration...), because its working principle is based on the law of a moving lever, I was talking about that in my videos. As for the oxygen sensor - if you don't have a catalytic converter on your car, you don't have the lambda. As for the ICV, you have the ICV on which you manually adjust the idle RPMs. As I have said, the ECU is just a finer tune up, an upgrade for the engine to have a smoother idle, better acceleration, more HP and if it accidentally fails, the car can continue the journey and the engine wont stall!

Thank you so much for your reply Yes exactly as you said Without ECU the engine is jerking in sudden acceleration I'm still having this problem after fixing the ECU issue Sometimes at high temperature coolant it jerks when acceleration I'm trying to figure out the problem gradually

Any idea what could be my problem.. My car suddenly didn't want to start when engine is cold. I started it few times with the help of start pilot, but yesterday when i got it started the idle was around 2000-3000 rpm. Where should i start finding the problem? Maybe vacuum leak?

hi, could u help? I was driving at motorway and suddenly theres no power to car, its just starting to slow down, no revs going up nothing, If I put car in Neutral it just stalls and thats it. Recently i have changed OVP relay, injection nozzles, cleared idle control valve, ecu also was fixed and it all was changed because I had very rough idling.

If you haven't replaced the potentiometer, check it, I think it's the potentiometer. If you have never replaced lambda(if you have one) replace it.

If adding a turbocharger to the M103, is there a way to modify the ECU and EHA to add fuel enrichment while under boost?
@mercedeske
Жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a way. The fuel enrichment on the EHA will have to be adjusted. For how much, well, I can't tell, you will have to do it yourself.
@steveriegeltuningtunerwork2189
Жыл бұрын
@@mercedeske My understanding is that would provide enrichment both off and on boost. I’m trying to find a way to get KE-Jetronic to enrich while under boost. The 1988 Bentley Turbo R uses KE-Jetronic, but I’m unsure how it provides enrichment while under boost?? In a perfect world a MAP sensor with vacuum/boost line could modify the signal from the EHA to the ECU, “tricking” the ECU to provide enrichment.
@mercedeske
Жыл бұрын
@@steveriegeltuningtunerwork2189 You can turn the resistance trimming plug on the position 7(I believe) that should provide enrichment in all phases. There is my video on that but you should make enrichment definitely.
@steveriegeltuningtunerwork2189

@@mercedeske I understand that…but if I do that, I thought it would likely cause it to be too rich when not under boost?
