I also appreciate all these videos, I think that I can do most of the repairs myself. I took my car into the dealership and some of the things that were wrong with it, are repairs you have made.

I just did this exact procedure tonight. I ended up leaving the bottom half of the air box in and had plenty of room to get to the upper bolt with the coolant reservoir out of the way. I have absolutely no idea what magic you used to hold the nut from falling under the fuse box though. I did loosen and move the fuse but it only bought me a half inch. A brake line wrench like you have must have held the nut from falling while you took the bolt out? Great videos, thank you!

Excellent videos! You should have your own show, seriously. I have a 97 C230 with 160k miles. The upper control arms and upper ball joints have never been done. Lower ones have been done. I’m not sure if I need to do the upper control arm balljoint. The front-end doesn’t feel like it used to. - What kinds of signs/symptoms did you have telling you the upper control arm balljoints needed to be replaced? - What does it feel like now after replacing the upper control arm and balljoints?

thanks good to know, I got a 190e, which I believe is slightly different and only has a lower ball joint, but i'm a mechanic so it's good to know if I ever run into a w202

I have a late model C280 w202 and so many of your videos have been helpful. thanks so much for putting these up. have you done a rear main seal on any of these w202/208's or dropped the rear diff out to changed seals and clean breather?

+Chuck Snow No I haven't.. We've had around 12 Mercedes over the years, and luckily never a diff or rear seal issue

HELP! I was removing my passenger side front upper control arm in my 99 C230 Kompressor and found some type of sensor attached to hit. What is that and how do I separate the control arm from the sensor?

You must have HID headlights . That is the level adjustment sensor for the headlights , Heres the vid for the R170 upper control arm with level sensor ..exact same part . !0:10 on the vid shows the sensor kzitem.info/news/bejne/kndq1o2rcKF0gYI

Would the process be more or less the same on a W210? I'm having a hard time actually seeing any difference between the control arm between w202 and w210, so I'd imagine it is.

+fupabox I went and swapped mine today. Took a bit longer than what you spent. About 4 hours actually. Turns out the electrical box takes the entire space infront of the nut, so had to unplug all the cables in the box before lifting it up. Since the bottom mount was still left there, and it was stuck without any apparent way to move it, I had a really hard time reaching the nut. Fortunately it was a flange nut, so I could fit it in a wrench without losing it immediately. That, and the control arm was so stuck on the knuckle I had to spend almost 2 hours of hammering and half a can of rust remover to get it out, but it worked out in the end. I might upload a how-to video sometime tomorrow, too.

svartehelll Cool, I'll sub so I can see the upload..I didn't realize the 210, had that much junk in the way.. forgot about the extra battery the 210 has in there which would take up space as well

I've done just about everything but this, should be the culprit in the shake coming from the front end. In fact, probably could have only replaced these in the first place.
