Thanks for the great video. Do you know if you have to prime or preset the timing chain tensioner?

Thanks so much for supporting my little channel I really appreciate you. OK, the tensioner new out of box, just insert it and torque up, no prime etc required, oh you probably need a fresh cover insert too, kind wishes, John

@@jonlamb5299 Thanks for the video. My car has the same engine and it has gone 125k kms. Today i decided to change the tensioner but when i change it. I heard a loud noise after i started the engine and turned it off immediatly. Dont know if the chain has skipped the teeth or timing has gone put. What do i do in this case?

Hi so i have a 2011 w204 m271 engine i changed the timing and cmashaft adjusters about a month ago but not the tensioner can i change it now and will i have problems with the chain ?

OK, you might have an issue taking the old one out loosing tension, I think best to revisit the job, refit the cam lock bar and fit new guide and tensioner, pig to get to it, remove the alternator shift power steering pump aside , you have to dig the blank out, I reused that, good luck

I am having a problem with my W203 M271 engine. The 1st spark plug has been stuck and all i replace are the remaining 3. How do I remove the stuck spark plug without damaging anything on the head. My cars performance gets affected as sometimes when I press down the accelerator the car has a rough idle and engine surging.

Hi, thanks for your contact, sorry I haven't had to remove a stuck plug mine were tight but came out ok, be careful not to break it as it's down deep and would be a big job to get fixed. Maybe a brand new socket and a breaker bar absolutely vertical and hope it breaks free. Good luck man, John auckland new zealand

Hi mate How did you remove the plate that covers the tensioner
@jonlamb5299
2 жыл бұрын
@@azzkam8972 hi, to remove it, you must move the alternator, then I dug it out with a strong screw driver, to replace it I got a new round blank cover and just tapped it into the hole of the chain tensioner, last thing before refitting the alternator

I got a 03’ w203 112 engine. When I try to install the timing chain tensioner it is so hard to instal it all the way. Is that normal? Should I get a bigger wrench for more leverage?

Hi there, if your engine is a 4cyl like mine, the alternator had to be moved for my engine the tensioner is beside the alternator, it took a while to unbolt the alternator, I remove power steering pump also, then it was easy to reach and remove, careful with the cap you can reuse it, thanks for your question and good luck

@@jonlamb5299 I figured it out now, I have the 112 v6 w203 engine, the way to put in the tensioner is to turn the crank until the timing guide rail is loosened, then get someone to hold it up, then instal the tensioner while pushing in. Then once it is flush tight with the block, it is good and installed. Thanks for the help anyways
